Just when you think you know it all....... I always assumed that the Mad Wolf was a quirky 2WD made and marketed by BANDAI which looks like this....

but today I went to see a guy about buying some old RC cars he had, and he said that he had 2 Mad Wolfs, one a complete running chassis the other a MIB, so when I went over to see him I assumed that I would see cars like the one pictured above, but when I finally got there, this met my eyes....

to say I was more that a little surprised would be the understatement of the year [8)] I knew that in the US Bandai RC cars were briefly repackaged and rebranded by the well known US model company MONOGRAM, in fact I already have a few of their cars in my showroom, the Brushfire (which is based on a Bandai along with the Tornado) and the Thunder, Lightning and Tidal Wave which were produced originally by Yonezawa, anyway, I got a lot of releted literature with the other Mongram kits I have, but they do not mention the fact that Monogram rebadged the Mad Wolf as well?

you do see MIB Bandai branded Mad Wolfs on Ebay from time to time and I have seen them go for around the $150-180 mark, but this car is a real find, I never even knew that it existed, but to be offered a MIB and a complete rolling chassis for £130 is quite a find indeed.

The kit itself appaers to be all there, the guy selling it thinks there may be a few parts missing but from what I saw it seems intact, the box has definatly seen better days though [V] its started to sag from about 10 years in loft storage, still I think it will make a valuble addtion to my Monogram collection.

I would be keen to know if anyone else has come across the Monogram Branded Mad Wolf? or better still has anyone seen the original Bandai version of the 4WD Tornado/Brushfire hotshot clone?

any information will be greatfully appreciated as allways ;)

About the Monogram version of Bandai's Mad Wolfe... Monogram supplied their own body. I had a bunch of NOS ones, on eBaY, last year... before the bunch of RTR's and Monogram/Yowezanas. The only one I opened, for pictures, had Bandai branded on all parts and packages.[:0]
