Hello!

I heard someone have talked about good buggy for today standard, sich as Schumacher CAT3000, Yokomo MR-4BC Special and Team Losi XXX-4.

I've talked to my local dealer, and his comment about the performance of listed buggies pretty close. What is you guys comments?

I remember my RCL Incident 4WD is better than the original CAT back to the 80s' but not sure about the CAT3000. However, the Losi and Yokomo seems pretty interesting.

Cheers!

I have an XX4 which I like quite a bit. The diffs at butter smooth and the quality of construction is very nice. It's a durable car as Shodog Jr. drives it quite a bit. with a 13 turn motor and good batteries, the buggy is balzingly fast

cars i race currently and think are probably the best are ..

Team Associated B4 for my 2wd from reviews and races so far definetly the best 2wd on the market at the moment ...

Cat3000 for my 4wd unlike the B4 i cannot really say if the cat is the best 4wd car at the moment It Seems The 4 Cars Named Below Are All In The Running With All 4 Uusally Fighting For Top Spots At All The Regionals / Nationals

Schumacher Cat 3000

TTech Predator

Losi XXX4

Yokomo MR4BC

I have been considering between CAT3000, XXX-4 and Yokomo MR-4BC special. I also discover Kyosho making a 4WD buggy called Lazer ZXS Evo.

However, the Yokomo is my first choice and the Team Losi XXX-4 is my second choice. But I have a difficuty to get the Yokomo MR-4BC special in North America, same as the Kyosho Lazer ZXS Evo. [8)]

I have driven my friend's Lazer (different version) couple times during camping. It seems not as control as some old Yokomo car such as YZ10 and YZ870C, IMO.

I am not a big fans of Schumacher since their first buggy -- CAT. I still remember that the CAT is a nightmare to assembly and set up. [:(]

Most likely I will buy the Yokomo MR-4BC special.

yokomo is a pretty good car but like the losi is very fragile, i see more of these cars broken and being fixed than the cat ... i have raced all this season at regionals and every friday night at local club and have only broken 1 front wishbone all year !!! how many yokomo or losi drivers could say that ??

So far I never owned any Yokomo buggy over the years. The only experience is my friend lent to me have some fun with it, such as YZ834B, YZ870C and YZ10.

I have to agree with you the Yokomo is quite fragile but I have no idea about Losi. Because this company show up right after I retired 13 years ago. Personally, I found the Kyosho is also very fragile. Personally, I found the Tamiya and Team Associated very solid build and last long.

Maybe I take your advice to rethink and investigate more about the Schumacher CAT3000. Is the CAT3000 coming with ball bearing and ball differential? Also, how their gearbox structure? I remember back to the mid 80s' a small piece of rock can get into the CAT gear box and damage the transmission. Does the CAT3000 still have the same problem?

Cheers!

firstly i think you'll find it was Cecil Schumacher who invented the ball differencials used in r/c cars ...

as for rocks gettin in i suppose this could be a problem on any 4wd car unless the belt is fully enclosed like the xxx4 .. but i have not had this problem and think that aslong as the body and undertray are both on and fitted correctly this will never happen anyway !!!

The belt use in the Yokomo also fully enclosed. Personally, the design of Yokomo MR-4BC Special Kit make more sense.[:)]
