Anyone ever own a PB?

They used to make mostly 1/8 off road cars. Namely the xi2 then the x3 Mustang. Wonder when this company went out of business. I had the xi2 in 1986.

I did a review of the "Mini Mustang" in R/C CAR for the November 2003 issue. If you are in the states - it may not be in the shop as "december" is the current one now! I did a "mini history" on "P.B" in that article.

Eventually I will be adding more of this type of information to my website. For now - is there anything specific you wanted to know ?

over the years PB pretty much tried their hand at all the different kinds of RC racing, and everytime they did they dominated that particular RC catagory for the short time that theri cars were competative and popular, when their fame started to did at one RC sport they simply switched to another and dominated that, they had thier most successes in the 1:8th Gas powered Motorcross series with the original Mustang series cars, they also did well in the 1:10th Electric Off-Road genre with the Mini-Mustang, Maxima and Ace then later on they moved on to 1:8th GP Pan car series in which they pretty much saw out their days and the company ceased to be in the late 90's but from what I hear the ppl who made PB what it was are still floating around today, some of them are now concentrating on the new 1:6th Big Scale series with FG marders and alike

PB's main line has been 1/8 road cars from day dot.

We ran the PB9 International in late 1970s, followed by their

1st suspension car PB Alpha and PB Nova.

Their 1st offroader PB Mustang was a simplified suspension car

based on the Alpha topped with a Escort buggy. To a kid, the

gas power + 2WD offroad was cool fun at its best.

I have an old pro 10 car somewhere, I seem to recall that was made by PB (I believe it was called the Sizzler).

Looks like a nice car, all carbon and machined aluminium. The rear suspension was an unusual 5 link arrangement with a coil-over damper. It has a broken rear axle, unfortunately so I can't tell you how it handles. I've never seen another one (even back in the day), so I guess they weren't all that popular, at least not over here.

I have completed a total of 6 articles now, and have many many planned !! I am happy with how things are going, it is great to be able to put the older cars back out there in the public racing community's eye - to show the newbies that that there is a real history to our hobby.

Well Darryn as privalidged as I feel to know a publised writer of your caliber (even though I have never seen the SAID articles) I was wondering do you think my writing talents are upto scratch?

Talking about early 1/8 scale How many had the garbo cars -I had there belt drive version (I think it was named Mustang) & the fast shaft drive one -great cars here in the US in the early days of 1/8 scale offroad-I think my old bud still has them got to track him down -
