My RC-10 restore

For the past couple of weeks I have been working pretty diligently on my RC-10 Graphite car. It came out really nice and I wanted to crow about it. Here is a link to it in my showroom.

Awesome looking RC10! [8D] Are the aluminium parts chromed or just highly polished?

Hi John, just polished, I learned a lot from that process. I just polished the nose, rear and shocks. The rest is black.

Gilby I like how the polished parts look against the shiny black body. you should post some body off shots too. I hope you used some type of buffing wheel to do the polishing. Otherwise your going to turn your hands into hamburger in no time.

Thanks guy! This car was a "rescue" off of ebay a got for very little. The car was complete but the gold chassis was notched on both sides to ,as near as I can tell, clear the battery wires. So it was in poor shape to begin with. I had never polished anything before so I started to experiment. I used an 8inch bench grinder with a polishing wheel and some compound. I got the factory gold anodizing off with EZ-Off oven cleaner. I will get some body off shots so you can see the rest.
