I recieved a Mini-T for christmas. I see that few other TC members have them also. I wanted to see what others though of their's and what they have done to it so far.

I finally got to run my Mini-T pretty extensively. http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=15533&id=34 Overall it's a cool little truck. The 6 cell battery and bearings definetly improve the performance. I will probably upgrade the motor next to either a speed 280 or maybe something bigger.

i am really impressed by the little beast, nice n strong and as you say Jim quick with 6 cell pack and bearings. I have the trinity monster on the way which should improve the performance no end. To be honest now its a little quick for indoors

The only thing I really want to do is change the electronics to use a quantum micro, a novak xxl. To do this I first need to change servo but the losi servo has a hex output shaft where all other servos have splined shafts. Getting a servo to fit isnt a problem but getting a servo saver is. Anyone any Ideas!

I really like the Mini-T. I also added the 6 cell pack and bearings. The performance is surprising for such a small truck. It really is to fast to use in the house. After my initial drive, I decided to stiffen up the suspension because the truck seemed to bottom out on even the smallest jumps. Next on my list will be a faster motor. And maybe some oil shocks.

I have fitted the LRP quantum Micro esc now, seems much punchier a great improvement. Had to modify a small servo to fit though, cut the output shaft into a hex so i could use existing servo saver.

Also modified the rear shocks by gluing the rubber insert to shafts to give a bit more damping, but do need oil shocks.

Some nice blurry images of my truck now [:D]

I haven't used mine much yet. I'm still waiting for my rechargable AAs to arrive as I ate thru the original 4 pack pretty quickly. For now, this is an indoor car, to use with the kids, so I don't think I'll go for the 6 cell pack or bigger motor just yet.

However, check this out to see how far you can go with the mini-t. Sick..

Got my 2000 mah NiMH, AA size. Still using only 4 with the stock motor and the mini-t is a bit too quick for indoors now. I made it stand up on it's back once (body off) when transitioning from reverse to forward.

Thats a lot of dough. I got my New era bumper for $9.95. When something is hot, there is always someone there to rip you off on parts

I'm still using the mini-t indoors. I'm afraid to imagine how much damage would be caused by a metal front bumper to my walls, furniture and ankles.

It's a bit too quick for inside.

Mini T's are a great car, as far as upgrades start off with 8 bearings for the hubs and front wheels (transmission is already ballraced). Then look at 6 cell pack. Those two alone make a huge difference. If you want more look at the trinity monster motor or a speed 300 motor (but for speed 300 you need a different motor plate).

Now the shocks are pretty poor and should really be changed, losi are bringing out some shocks but in the meantime the standard ones can be improved.

Simply dismantle shocks and you will see that inside the shock there is a rubber grommet that the shaft slides thru inside the shock body, you need to use a touch of superglue to glue the rubber grommet to top of shock shaft. Add a little bit of grease and rebuild, the shocks now have some damping.

I would say that you need to check the pinion to spur mesh when if you get it, mine and 2 friends cars had a mesh that was far too tight.
