Which non-Tamiya motors are the most desirable and sought-after by collectors?

I personally have to say the old Le Mans series from Kyosho. These motors were about in the mid 80's along with the Tamiya Techni series.

Along with many others. I currently have the 240S, 480Gold, 240SB x 2, and 240T. All nicely boxed. Also NiB & new built Rocky has the 240ST.

Surely, you jest? Kyosho LeMans? Are you kidding me? I have one word........CONRAD! Search the old threads using keyword Conrad, and you will be soon devoting your life to finding one of these little diamonds in the rough. LeMans, I mean, come on.

I would have to say the Kyosho lemans series. some of them had aluminum front and end bells that were gold annodized. Very nice motors. I have also seen anice Trinity Monster horsepower motor that had aluminum front and end bells that were red annodized.

I collect the Le Mans series due to them being a popular hopup in the era I raced (early/mid eighties). There are far better motors available now, but in their day, they were very fast.

How about the 'Wet Magnet' Kyosho Spa Motors...? I have a few LeMans motors now (240T, 480T and 480 On-Road Pro). Missin the 360ST I had in my Optima all those years back. Want some Spa's...!

Agree on the le mans engine I would also add the trinity monster horsepower nuclear assault, with a superb all aluminium end-bell, 9 turn triple back then in 1990, a very hot motor (although totally useless with 1600 batteries...)

Dont forget the Joel Jhonson signiture stock motor, or the astro 05 turbo motor. Really, any old motor NIB is worth collecting, and mounting in a vintage car in my book. As for Tamiya motors, I would guess the open endbell technipower motors would be most saught after. I wouldnt pass up a black motor at a good price either though.
