I was just wondering about what RC car you people liked the most, thought was the most beautiful car. As You've already figured from my posts I'm a big Cox Scorpion and Frog fan, But what about You ?

I really would like to run the cars instead of just storing them as shelf queens, seems alot of cars are just to 'valuable' to be run..

Please don't all of you say Sand Scorcher now :P

I am a huge fan of all vintage 4wd competition buggies. I do shun the less competition minded cars unless they offer an absurd complication and or lots of alloy and frp. Bearing this in mind, my current favorite is probably the cox(kyosho) gallop and progress models. They are insanely complex, and are a tinkerers delight. A close second would be the ultra rare mip legend 4wd. Me thinks that if I had an ayk viper, it may in fact take top honors, but alas, they have eluded me thus far.

I know I will sound foolish but the first time I saw a Sand Scorcher Iwas hooked. the body was so realistic and the tires were cool shaped rubber. I knew that I had to have one.

Car most liked/beautiful : Wild One

I also like many of the 2WD and 4WD buggies of the early - mid '80s, like Grasshopper, Hornet, Frog, Fox, Hotshot, etc. They were too costly for me (or may be many of us) when we were still 13 or 14, so the fond memories just rested in my mind till I finally grew up now, had a job and began to source for one each (or more) of them until the kid inside got fulfilled ...I reckon when it comes to one's most favorite RC, it's just not a rational thing one could explain. There is always a childhood dream behind everyone's favourite...[:)]

lots of great memories for me, first car, first racer etc...

But my all time fave would be the original RC-10.

Raced that car all over the country, and the 2 highlights with it were making my first national A final, and winning a national event lapping the then British Champ with the same car in the A final.

Well, I am also a fan of the old 4wds, but my favorite would have to be the AYK Viper, I just think this is the best looking car ever.

I wish I had one [:(]

The Hirobo Alien, Nichimo 4wd series and Kyosho Tomahawk would be my next favorites (most desired [?])

Must say I love my Tomy Intruder, i've been running it for almost 9 years now (since I was 11) and i've never managed to break a thing! Sure the shells rather scratched and cracked, but the main parts are fine. If I could get another.. :P.

Simple:

Toyota Hilux 4x4. The ultimate vintage r/c car:

- 3 speed gearbox

- hard plastic body

- all metal chassis

Doesn't get much better that this? You can even choose between the four variants - Original Hilux, Blazer, Bruiser or Mountaineer.

Now, I dont know just how "vintage" these cars are, but I'm going to go with the TA-01/2 cars. The first new car I ever got was the TA02 Celica GT-4 (can be seen in my showroom. And by coincedence it was a TA-02 S-10 that got me back into the hobby after like a 7 year break. It just seems like suck a briliant chassis, it seems like with the right mods it can do anything, pluss they look cool as badword when they're all modded up. Based on this site it seems to me that everyone has a "special place" for thier first real model, hence my thing for the TA series. Anyone agree or disagree with that?

I am with Rizwan. All the 3spds... the metal frame, 4wd, hard body ..just can't get any closer to the real thing.

Now if Tamiya could just make a dually pick up with parts form the 1/14 truck and add a hard body from GM or Ford.

My favourite all time car (well series of cars) has to be the XC series, Pajero, Isuzu Mu etc.

I've had an original Hi-Lux, lovely peice of work but too scary to actually run and enjoy.

The XC's are a usable classic. Check my showroom/website you'll see what I mean.

Mine are definately the Kyosho Optima and then the Ultima. There is just so many hopups, modifications, configurations you can do with these cars. My current search is for a Kyosho Landjump in good condition at a fair price.
