Lovely [8D], would think its an old toy which was adapted to modern RC, had done similar jobs in the past, pretty easy to do...

Why not on a front drive chassis like FF01? []

Cool, looks like I need to keep an eye out for a big plastic toy of one. FF-01 could be an idea, certainly wouldn't want to be running on those wheels with 6 cells and a 540[:0]

I know it's been "a while" here since this thread was active, but anyway; I've been searching for large scale models of French cars suitable for RC-conversions lately, and also stumbled over the original toy the model in this thread was based on. It was manufactured by Spanish toy company Paya and is highly collectible. Officially it's 1/12 scale, but with a total length of about 40cm, the scale is most likely a bit smaller as the overal length of the 1:1 Citroen ID/DS is about 4.8m.
