Associated only produced the gold tub for a long time. They later produced a 'factory team' version with a black tub and also sold replacements in blue and fluorescent red. I don't recall Associated ever selling a silver or clear anodised tub.

Silver chassis were usually made by polishing off the gold anodised coating. This did make it slightly lighter (less material) but it was usually done when most of the gold anodising had been rubbed off the underside when running. With all the marks in the gold anodising it looked a mess so you just polished off the rest.

Thanks for the info.

I could not rember much about the rc10. Back in the day I was a on road guy and did not do much off road racing. I found my old rc 10 in a box while cleaning out my shed to move.( I forgot I even had it)I think I bought it from a off road racer back in the day so it was pretty setup and came with the sliver chassis. he must have polished off the gold like you said to make it lighter and look better.

thanks.
