Thats a shame about that Touareg. That body is hideous. I can't imagine they are going to sell very many of those. If they do it will be from people just wanting the XC chassis.

I think it would have been a better seller had they adapted the Juggernaut body onto the XC chassis

The only use i can see for the Touareg body is for bailing out leaky boats or growing plants in, just my opinion though.

Still there is a great XC chassis underneath, just waiting for a hardbody Pajero, Wrangler etc.

I think it is excellent news to know that a long wheelbase XC has been re-released.

The Touareg is not a pretty car (should have been the RAID-X5) but I'd rather have a Touareg than a Honda [:)].

I don't get what all the fuss is about the XC chassis.

I mean if they stuck a new body on the Hi-Lux/ Blazer/Bruiser/Mounty chassis then that would be one thing, but the XC chassis ain't all that great, in my opinion.

I guess the thing I would like about the XC chassis is that it really is ALL terrain friendly to an extent, the jack of all trades master of none, thing. The TA-01/02 trucks looked the part but never did get the position. As soon as there is a Touareg avail from my LHS I will get one. I will likley get another body for show and run the VW. I dont think it looks too bad but I would have prefered a Toyota Tacoma double cab or a Nissan rally pickup (gotta love McRae).

At least its still "current" Stu.

Guess the guys are into the affirmation thing - good to know its still

in production and available to buy from LHS if one so desired.

But most of them won't buy until there's rumour that production is

stopping and they'll be getting rare as.. umm Pajero Rallys? [:)]

Stu, the XC chassis is very cool. It's not a TXT or T-maxx but a very bneat scale runner. I have more fun with my jeep than most of my other cars combined

I think the reason the XC chassis is liked by so many is down to the fact it actually looks like a 1:1 off road chassis.

I think the new VW body looks naff, but Tamiya must be listening to some of its customers as at least it has the XC chassis underneath it.

If they re-realeased a 3 speed chassis with some hideous lexan "Doesn't resemble anything" body on it, I'm sure we'd all like one so we could use our Jugg/clod bodies on it.

The re-release of the XC chassis means better parts availablity (I hope)

I reckon they'll sell more spares for the VW than actaul VW kits.

Stu, the XC chassis provides great climbing/trial abilities, together with a realistic look and layout, just check the pics and videos in my site of our rides and misc trial competetions in Germany, where they are very popular as they can compete with customs build 4x4x4 till 8x8x8 trial trucks which cost more then $2000! Just for the record. I like the new VW. But then again I've got a thing for 'ugly' design. I much prefer a car that looks like it could 'handle itself', take a good thrashing and still come back for more, rather than one thats all for show like ferraris etc.

Tamiya will now be known for the amount of decal use on their RC and not for details from their model division. May be this will change.

Yokomo is putting out a "Drift Package" RC with pop up head lights, side rear view mirrors, wiper blades, wings, brake discs in wheel and fat boy tail pipe. Something Tamiya should be putting out but no they decide to go decal. Maybe Tamiya should change its name to Decamiya or Tamiycal.... As for the VW thing with XC chasis...the good part is it'll be cheap around HK$450 to HK$750 I would guess and it will be good spare parts for my real XC model like the pajero or Mu.
