It does look like a Yankee Electra (a car that looks better without it's body!), but I don't remember the Electra having a chassis plate. For example, here's a pic of an Electra in Wldnas' showroom of obscure cars

The shock mounting points seem to be different also - maybe Yankee made 2 versions of the Electra, or yours has been hopped-up at some point?

Very similar to the Yankee Electra indeed but that car in question is made by a different manufacturer nt sure the name but its German and the name of the car is Conrad. I've got one of those which needs a lot of elbow grease to return it to its former glory. Main difference as seen is it comes with the bottom pan chasis and twin tubalar alloy frames whilst the Yankee comes with four tubalar frames, shocks and mountings are different and both have different bodies i prefer the shell that comes with the Conrad

The make of your car is probably Conrad. They are a German electronics/hobby retailer who sell Tamiya and other brands, but also have 'own brand' stuff which is made for them by other suppliers. The modela are so similar that it looks like Conrad might have been selling "badge-engineered" Yankee products, but with a slightly less complex design (possibly to keep the costs down?). Either that, or they are far-east knock-offs that Conrad were badging as their own (they currently badge some models supplied by GV Models in Taiwan under the Conrad brand, which have been 'influenced'[;)] by the TA01/02 chassis).

At least yours has got a better looking shell, though it would be very hard for it to be uglier than the Yankee one![:)]
