Has anyone ever seen a four stroke engine in an 1/8th model car? I know it would have a lower power to weight ratio, but the sound would be rather appealing. Could be an interesting project...

Just spoken to three five models and they told me about an OS .40 four stroke buggy engine. It doesn't seem to be on the OS website yet, but they have already sold one to a customer. This will sound rather good in my project mustang!

Here's an early picture - scroll down to the all black one (available in two sizes)...

I have also seen a four stroke mounted to a TG10, think it was a .6 though, it was an O.S engine, was about 2 years back now, when I had my TG10.. The guy said it was way down on power but he was able to gear it very low and overcome that. Looks great too and the sound is awesome. Like a low down growling sound. bit like when the 500CC changed name to Moto GP. [:D][:D]

Thanks

James

hi all i put a four stroke plane engine in a usa 1, flipped over the diffs and removed the counter gear. The sound and smoke was ace but a four stroke engine is built for torque and not very revvy. Plus this one was a *** to start!!

WOW, that radial Aircraft engine halfway down is really something! Who needs a plane to put it in?...that can be used as an awesome running display piece as it is! [:D]

The guy at 3-5 models told me they do an electric start version of the new os four stroke. No more starting hassles at all!
