Hi all I got some of these GPM shox on my Mini-T and was wondering which springs are the hardest??

Purple??

Yellow??

I've got the Yellow ones on at the moment and have the coller screwed down 4 turns and the back end still squats too low!!

Anyone know a good set-up using the GPM shox??

Thanx.

hi FBS

im sure the purpule wants to me at the rear, on the rear arms use the shock mounting hole nearest the chassis and also use the lowest shock mount hole on the shock tower (rear) then use the adjuster to adjust your droop, i have a mini t also [:D]

what specs you running fatboyslim mate [:P]

i have

Kfactory alloy chassis trinity mini monster rims on rear and standard ribbed rims on front. i use carbon shock towers all round, i have a modded motor plate heatsing and a blue alloy motor guard/heatsink adjustavble rods all round.i run a rc18t 280 stock motor with the stock losi mini t esc/rx combo and 1050mah unitedrc kan 6cell pack (soon to be 8cell thanks to bigussditchus [:D]) i have a pumpkin rear wheelie bar modded to fit my T an own a stupidly insane mamba comp X 8000kv brushless system [:P] that may be put in the mini t [:I] im too scared as its already killed the rear rc18t axle.

My Mini T has GPM Red ali front/rear shox,front/rear arms,front 'c'-hubs,steering knuckles,rear hubs,titanium tie-rods and titanium CVD's

everything else is stock I use a 6v 2500mah custom made Ni-Mh pack and get mega run times!!

I've just realised I've seen your Mini T on tamiyaxtreme.com!!

I have the new 2005 spec GPM ali shocks and the fronts pi$$ oil out like nobody's business. Not that impressed with them TBH. Rears, oddly enough seem fine. I too am running the yellow springs as that's what they wewre fitted with. Seems great so far.

My car runs 7-cell Trinity NiMH, 8-cell Atomic NiMH, Graupner Speed 300, Atomic Ali 300 motor mount, GPM shocks, full ball bearings by 3Racing and some lovely TopCAD alloy wheels.

I'm hoping to add some more ali bits on to beef it up in time for 3-cell LiPo and the 6800kV Mamba.

Just got a Mini-T (thanks TOBYs) and have been meaning to ask about the shocks. What is the best hop-up for the stock shocks? The GPMs look good but I do wonder about the quality given the price they are.

For the record, the spec is basically stock with the addition of a Trinity hop-up motor, universals and full ball-bearings. Got a set of white wheels with Dirt Hawgs on the way (ebay find) and a beetle body to paint up, either in the same scheme as our Gravel Hound (see showroom) or as a Herbie or Scorcher lookalike.

Interestingly, I rolled my Mini-T last night and one of the ball-ends on the shocks snapped...! It's only had three battery packs through it and I don't think you can get spares, so i just had to order a new set of shocks...! Great [V][B)] A bit **** about that to say the least...[:(!]

Also took time to get a few more goodies as well. Got to say that running the Mini-T at my place is very limiting as it doesn't go well on the grass and runnign p and down the drive all day is getting a bit boring.

id="quote">id="quote">I've had a set of GPM's for a year and a half now and one just broke the bottom joint, but they've never leaked and were well worth the money. The same time I got those, a friend bought the genuine expensive LOSI ones, and after a month he binned them and got GPMs too, because the Losi ones were too fragile. At the price I'd say the GPMs are fine, but maybe buy a couple of spares..

Beetle body is a must, I got one as soon as it was released. I'm also thinking of getting a Trinity Beer Wagon as I've heard it's been discontinued, looks similar to a Midnight Pumpkin.

Sounds like your 'T has all the base hopups you need. The only other hopup I would recommend is titanium turnbuckle set. The stock soft steering and suspension rods have lasted a while, but they bend and affect handling, after a year or so mine had been bent and restraightened so many times that they snapped.. Stella do these at a very reasonable price, just fitted mine and the handling and steering is definitely improved.

You could replace the whole chassis with one of the carbon ones, but IMO they aren't worth it for an offroad basher. They improve the car for racing, but cost a lot of cash and I've been more than happy with the stock chassis. Also, if you break part of the stock chassis it's cheap to get replacement bits. (I broke the front last year at Kidd and it cost 3 quid to replace)

I sold my Mini-T recently too!!

Used the money to get a great condition Pajero MTW!!

It's virtually complete just missing the battery clip and spotlight bracket!!

Got the Mini-T out at Clumber and it ran great on the rough stuff...! Swapped out those GPM shocks for TopCad ones - only abouyt £3 more but *waaay* better quality. Highly recommend them.
