I am always getting a wild hair for something. I spotted this vintage Ranch Pit Shop Yokomo YZ834b Body on eBay. I already had a Dahm’s Raider body waiting to be trimmed and painted but I always wanted the stock RPS body instead. I watched this body for what seemed like an eternity. With only a few hours to go, the price had not raised over $20.50. Since this body was custom painted by Andy's Paint, I knew it would go high so I set my auction sniper to slam in a bid with my most insane posse amount. Luckily I won it but it wasn't cheap. Today I received it in the mail, trimmed it out and here it is.

I really like the look. Very retro race cool. I need to paint a wing to match.

I am also going to change the wheels out for a set of aluminum ones made for the car. I spent about an hour polishing these up to a mirror shine. I just need to switch the axles and hubs back out to the stock ones

Nice work Shodog... next time you're in Oz, come over and I'll ply you with beer, and you can do all the cleaning and polishing that I just can't be bothered myself! lol...

Jim, sometimes you really annoy me with your ability to make stuff look amazing...!!! Again, a superb job. Lovely finish on those wheels. Did you hand polish them or dremel them...? Either way, very envious. [8D]

I am currently prepping my 1:1 RS 500 for concours and am hand polishing the rims. So far, about 4 hours per wheel. OUCH, my fingers hurt like nobody's business... [:(]

I cheated a bit and used my drill. I mounted a hub on a 5mm shaft and put that shft into the drill. I spun them sanding them with 600 grit, then steel wool then the flitz polish. It still put the working on my hands so Incredible, it's going to take more than a beer to get me to do your cleaning and polishing.

I have switched out the gear case for a nicer one. also used a bunch of new gears when I built it back up. Switched the wheels to the JPS ones I polished. Put in the hardened axles from delta and changed out eh hubs for the stock ones. I also changed some of the screws for the genuine articles. I also switched out the back plate from a used Hot trick one to the stock one. This will allow me to mount the sway bar a lot easier.
