Losi has the suspension travel that the Associated does not have,

I fancy one of the new Mini LST's. they look a blast !

rc car action magazine did a head to head with a mini t pro and a 18t team and the losi still won,ive got 3 mini t's and a 18t and i would say for general use they are the same, but on rough or loose ground the mini t is better due to the sealed gearbox.

the 18t's are better indoors on carpet when racing though.

After buying an 18T and having my mini-T I would still have to give the nod to the 18T.  The radio in my mini-T is absolute junk.  I have had to replace the gears in the tranny when they stripped out.

Shame that the RC18 esc has almost no brakes though. Just got my little Frog am curious to test how it compares to it.

Cheers

Here's my daughter's. Her's has a Trinity Monster Mini motor, Novak XXL Receiver, Novak SPY ESC, Aluminum Oil filled Dampers, Full Ball Bearings, and Front and Rear Aluminum Bumpers. The body is a Baja Body from Losi with Losi Body Mounts. It is running on a SMC 6 Cell Mini Pack.

Mini-T's are great. I just sold mine on eBay as I decided to stick some more $'s into my Tamiya GB-01 Baby Frog. Cost me $160 for a brushless setup but it should go like badword... [:P]

they are, but drop a center spool in one and expect to roast front and rear diffs. that is one area where losi fell short on its face. wait until the GPM gears are in good circulation before getting one

your daughter has good taste as far as color choice and hopups go. I like blue. did your daughter paint that or did you?

I've got one with a Mamba brushless in, and it's quick. Very quick. To keep the nose down, I turned the whole rear pod around so the motor is mounted in the center. This extends the wheelbase and improves the chassis balance, so the Mini-T actually handles now.

I also replaced the fragile steering knuckles with RC12 parts (although everything is fragile at nearly 35 mph) and upgraded to a HS-55 servo and FM radio. The stock radio leaves a lot to be desired, but it is an RTR after all. The ball diff upgrade is mandatory when you go brushless, as well.

Its stiffer plastic gives the Mini-T better handling than the RC18, but at the expense of more broken parts. I'd like to see oil shocks come standard. The RC18 is a better value, but I think the Losi is the better truck.
