having being sponsored by academy for a couple of years before i stopped racing i think i can offer some advice.

the griffins arent bad cars but they do have a few niggles, the design is loosely based on a losi xx and the design is about 7-8 yrs old(i have some griffin tyres here with the date stamped on them from 97)

they dont handle too bad but dont expect too much from them, the gearbox isnt the strongest point,we had some major slipper clutch problems with the griffin pro that varied from batch to batch but we couldnt get academy to listen,i havent run a neo griffin(they have geared diff not ball) so not sure how strong the gearbox would be..if i was you i would be tempted to steer clear and maybe get a b3 if your budget is limited to arounf the neo griffin price...its a much better buggy all around.

My boys run their Neo Griffins regularly, and I have to say that generally they are very strong and reliable.

The only part they've broken so far is one of the rear arm mounts, not bad in a years worth of bashing [:D]

The only mod I made to the car was to ditch the standard spur gear adaptor and replace it with a HPI one.

This allowed the use of better spur gears plus it runs very true - the standard setup made the spur gear wobble both side-to-side AND front-to-back!

For me the only problem is finding replacement parts, haven't found a store yet that stocks parts and will ship to Australia [:(]

I used to get bits off an ebay shop but they dont sell the parts anymore.
