Hi Folks

I am totally new to modeling and have just purchased a Subaru Impreza WRC 2001 with a TL-01 chassis. I used the small 3g grease that came with the kit and feel that it probably needs more. Problem is I haven't got a clue what grease to buy there seems to be choice of three or four different types. Can anyone suggest what grease I should use?

Thanks in advance.

You should be looking for SILICONE grease, not to much otherwise it will just splash around inner gearbox cover (wasted).

That small tube should be more than enough. The components only need a small smear whilst some I would not bother doing at all. I would put a light smear on the gears inside the diff and another light smear on the other gears in the gearboxes. I never bother greasing diff outdrives, driveshafts and wheel axles as this just attracts dirt and forms a grinding paste.

I use bicycle bearing grease on many of my vehicles.  As Pushrod said, you only need a little bit otherwise it just flies off the gears and sticks inside the gear case.

I use the sample tubes of Super Lube synthetic teflon grease.  I sell the stuff, so I get the samples free, and a 12 gram tube is usually enough for maybe two or three builds.  I just used it on my Lunchbox and it works great.

I dont use much but never use the kit stuff as it is heavy and I just use tamiya ceramic or molybdenum grease and sometimes AW grease
