Now that we've heard the sad tales (sad, but entertaining!), how about some good ones? I think mine was today when this showed up in the mail:

My best moment - When I found this SITE "T/C"

id="quote">id="quote">

Well... guess some of us have been around a bit longer than TC [:)] but it does rate pretty highly, alongside (1) discovering Roby's webpage & original chatsite and (2) found out I wasn't the only one onto these things.

My happiest Tamiya moment was the day I got my Sand Scorcher.. [:)] I can't wait till that day will come! [:o] D'oh! [xx(]

I always feel like having a 'good Tamiya moment' after I get a good buy. Last big buy it felt differetn though... I dunno why I feel bad about it: I got a Mini, HotShot and Sand Rover, a Bear Hawk and lots more for 200€! [:)] They all needed a lot of work though, especially the Sand Rover and HotShot are going to cost my left arm restoring...! [xx(] I think when the Sand Rover is finished I will have another 'Tamiya moment'.

What is the 'Tamiya moment about anyway? I remember something like a 'Kodak moment'... [;)] LOL

The wife would want to say its the big grin plastered on, whenever there's a new acquisition/addition to the fleet. [:D]

Darned it... I gotta try harder to keep my secrets. [:I]

I would have to say, coming down on the morning of my 14th bithday to find a Beaties (big U.K model shop)car carry bag containing a brand new Hornet with controller all batteryed up and ready to go.

ahh happy days.

Best day was either:

1> Running my Avante 2001 for the first time back when I was 12,

2> When the LHS owner acepted £50 for his 28 year old sand scorcher + lots of other parts (including possibly 1/2 a rough rider - but no shell)- can be seen in my showroom as it was when I got it a month ago!

22 years ago, the twelve year old Fantuzzi acquired a slightly used Holiday Buggy from our local hobby shop. In these days I didn’t bother if it’s a Tamiya or any other brand. I loved this car without reservations and I remember sleepless nights as well.

Being back in this hobby again makes these memories even more sweet.

Two moments for me...

13 years old and driving my SS through the deepest puddle... it looked just like the video in Hamleys!!!

3 weeks ago and driving my new built 959 for the first time...

Its good to be back!

There ra e few for me but the ones that stand out are when I was 13years old and my mom picks me up from school. I get in the car and on the floorboard of the front seat is a Frog ready to go with a charged battery. I was so happy.

Another was when I went on a business trip to New York. I walked 22 blocks from my hotel in Manhattan to this hobby shop. I asked the owner if he has any old stuff. He eventually brings out four big boxes and says I can have it all for $35. Inside I see a NIB Hilux radio box and a bunch of stuff for the SRB's and wild willy. Walking back to the hotel with all this stuff I thought I was dreaming. I had a fun time going through security at La Guardia airport. They probably thought I was a freak with so many rc parts in my bagage.

My Tamiya moment.......even if half the trucks in the picture don't belong to me. Me and my friend got our trucks together for a family photo over the Christmas holidays. [:I]

Supershot,

Same story, worked over the christmas holidays with my dad and soon as I had the cash, off to the Hobby Place to by a Hotshot. Back in '85, the coolest car on the block, although not the fastest!

To keep up with the hot Frogs, Hornets and my brothers' mad Grasshopper I used to pull out the front drive shafts when on the street.[;)]

Another good moment was at the Keilor R/C track, me in the 4WD class and my brother in 2WD with his Grasshopper.

This grasshopper was stock except for a reasonably hot motor and he cleaned up the day. Lots of up-set spoilt kids with the latest trick cars.[8D]

As this is the good stuff I won't say what happened to that Grasshopper.[xx(]

Wouldn't perchance be painted ORANGE, would it? [:0]

One landed in our hands, we're still wondering what kind of twisted minds could have resulted in something in that condition... [B)]

21 years ago, after saving up for over 6 months going into my local model shop and buying my Sand Scorcher, and the 2 days it took to build it!

And most recently, winning my club Championship, and making a National A final with my 04 PRO !

Personally I haven't been workin' the Rc's too long but my greatest moment was the day i got into this hobby. A moment doesn't go by in which I don't think about my next project.

Rated second must be the score on ebay with two old Blackfoot bodies which I have been working my rookie skills on and restoring them to prime condition. Too see that I was able to repair the bodies with some ingenuity really was a wicked experience..... Just waitin' for a B-foot or a Monster Beetle to restore to rock my world.....sorry to say but I got a real love for these two old climbers (despite their gear case difficulties).
