Hey gang,

Hope I am not being too personal for a fellow who just joined the club, but what does everybody here do for a career? Me, I am in the US and work for Fed Ex Ground. Some of you guys seem like you are rich, by looking at some of these collections. See ya!

I am the stock manager for a German formwork & scaffolding company in Greece.

I wouldn't say I'm rich, not much is left after paying al the bills[B)]

Needless to say, my hobbies (Mountain Biking, Wakeboarding, PCs, RC cars) 'eat' what is left over from paying the bills...[:(]

(to TC oldies) Where's our last thread on this, fellas? Nothing comes up on 'search' for it... was it on Roby's perhaps??

Yeah, I looked for that one too, before posting, but nothing came up!

It definately wasn't on Roby's though!

Cheers,

I used to be an industrial modelmaker, from creating and developing prototype toys for Mattel to building large scale exhibitions for museums. After being made redundant a couple of months ago I am now working towards setting up my own business covering computer building and training videos.

I work on the railway as a train driver for a freight company..It pays well but unfortunately theres a small detail that is prohibiting me from extending my collection..........It's called a wife and two children [:D] [:D] But thats life...

The job is interesting as no two days are the same,Drive to different places, different situations etc..

(I wonder if there are any other railway workers who use this site[?])

I used to work in motorcycle grand prix racing. It used to be called 500GP's, then it was called GP1 and now it's called motoGP. It's the motorcycle equivilent of F1 car racing.

Anyway, I was a mechanic for about 8 years and then spent a year as a co-ordinator which means booking all the flights, hotels, hire cars. Organising frieght transportation, entertaining sponsors and basically everything except ride a bike or fix a bike!!...

Worked for some good teams using Factory NSR Honda's. Repsol Honda, Shell Advance Honda and Kanemoto Racing.

When your rider wins a race it's the best feeling in the world, but all that travelling and fixing crashed bikes got too anoying.

[:D]So now I don't do anything except play with toy cars.[:D]

I started the exact same thread before the 'outside world' was deleted. It is good to see it starting again and looking popular already. At the moment I'm a student but will however become a technology teacher as of August this year. I cant wait to be earning proper money for doing a worthwhile job. I guess I will maybe add a few cars to my collection but I will need my own house to keep them in. As of August getting my own place becomes the priority.

I always tell people I count books! (sounds better than IT). Seriously though, working as database and software developer for the company that produce the UK and Australian book charts. See the best seller lists in the papers on a Saturday? Well that's my random number generator, er, computer system.

hi all!

I am a graduate IT trainee in a big (German) insurance company in the UK, working mainly on corporate projects (business process re-engineering). - Slowly paying off all my debts and things, and trying to save for a Bruiser! - Why is it that I am worse off now then when I was a student?

I work for a recruitment consultancy in London... joined it when it was a 4 man start-up in '97 after selling (and drinking) wine for a living for 5 years.

I live in envy of two people (one real and one fiction)... their answers to this question were...

"I race cars, play tennis and chase women... but I am my own boss and I never work weekends" (Dudley Moore as Arthur)

"Occupation - Racing Driver... Profession - Gentleman" Rob Walker (owner of privateer entry cars in the GT races in the 60's including Stirling Moss's Ferrari 250GTSWB.

Somehow recruitment just does not cut it!!!

I work for large US investment bank in the City (London).

I'm not a trader - just a regular IT bod that looks after backup and recovery (for the IT guys out there we backup 7TB of changed data every night).
