If you kill the power to the transmitter would that kick the fail safe in?

On clumber once I set my madforce off at at full speed and for some reason I'd left the reciever battery holder dangling outside the radio box [8)] First slight bump batteries fell out. At this point the failsafe kicked in it came to a nice stop.[8)]

at least an rc car will hit a tree (or person[V]) if it goes out of control. count yourself lucky that it wanst an out of control rc plane or helicopter that hit you, cos that would be really bad[8)]

this makes me wonder, i have never seen a warnig lable on a nitro car, at least not a visible one, but my mammoth dump truck, which has a top speed of around 0 mph, has warning stickers pasted all over it!

We can't race the 1/8 scale at our local track anymore. The insurance is just too high, We were racing them without insurance for a while, but there were injuries and it had to be stopped. Even up on the drivers stand noone was safe.

My cars havent any failsafe's but i'm thinking of going PCM now and thats the best failsafe method (I belive) , a failsafe wouldn't have saved me this time because it was my fault , the main problem is that the car broke traction about 30 feet away from me and at 60 mph it gives you about .3 of a second to react !!!!!!!

I also appreciate the comment about the planes , helis , I have a 1/4 scale pitts with a 30cc engine in it , those things are frightening and a half .

Ok... now THAT has got me puzzled.

How does your failsafe work without power?? [?]

Perhaps we all could do with "thottle return springs". [:P]

This is why I like my TXT-1, I can out run it.... But seriously, fail-safes for nitros and some electrics should be mandatory with the speed some of these things can go...

Similar thing happened to me with my 1/6 scale FG truck, out one sunday morning on a deserted carpark, some kids heard it and turned up, coming back towards me i lost control and it bounced some how high enough to catch one of them near the handle bars of his bike and knocked him and his mate over. Quickly made sure he was alright, packed it all away and went home shaking. next time ! after a month or two was showing a mate loss control again, went all round a car park full of cars and made a bee line in to my 1:1 car door. Its now in the loft, not much chance of hurting anyone unless it falls out of hatch on to my head. Hope your injuries heal soon Tony Ps I was using my field force 3 pcm, look out for it soon in the traderoom[:I]
