Its not a mini, but its small and quick:

Renault Clio 1.8 RSi 16v

Not many of these made i don't think - (well I've only ever seen 2 including mine!)

Will post a picture once I've cleaned that horrible snetterton sand off it!

Its not an all Mini Topic BB [;)]

hi adam,

I got the shell from a place in newcastle called the "Toy Shop" ( very fitting name!!) the paint was done locally , Glasgow. I like your foot note, I hear the same voices!!! I pop out to the shops and end up driving about for hours!!! mini's are addictive!!

Arnt they!

How much did the shell cost if you dont mind me asking?

And was it a Solid shell when you bought it?

Hi guys.

I like all minis and most small quick cars but there is no substitute for heavy metal. As well as my 95' Skoda Felicia a have now got a 89' Volvo 240GL! The thing is a tank, but it has some kind of strange charm in the driving experience. I will get a sporty car one day but until then I can transport my entire collection with ease. A lot of people hate Volvo drivers but you must forgive them as what they are steering around that roundabout is more akin to a ship than a car.

My dad has a Austin Healey Sprite "Frogeye", a Saab 95 and several other vintage cars. Anyone familiar with these two? [:D] I think the Frogeye is the best! [^]

My mum has a Land Rover Defender 90, cool mum huh? [8D]

wow Stu , that volvo is simply amazing

The way they made it look so streamline is a question that will be never answered!

Volvos must be great fun to intimidate(spelling?) people with , there pretty big!

Sjoerd , ive heard of a frog eye , its a Sports Car right [|)]

With some Flog Eyes as Head Lamps?

Vauxhall Calibra 2litre 16 valve, decatted, custom 4 branch manifold, modified airbox, uprated Brembo brake system, 17"alloys.

I would love to say that this still is my car. Technically it still is, but after sticking it into the barrier on a motorway on Saturday it is now three feet shorter.[:(][:(][:(][:(][:(][:(] (Who said a Calibra could never leave the road backwards.) I am just glad that my poor car sacrificed herself to save me, and I am relatively unscathed.

Yeah, a Frogeye is a sportscar, I told you that before, Adam... [|)]

The older type of AH Sprites had the lamps relatively far in the middle of the bonnet, making ik have a Frog like appearance. (not refering to the Tamiya Buggy but the animal [:P] ) This changed from 1960 onwards. That is why only the older types are called Frogeye for above mentioned reason. They are nicer than the newer ones though. [^]

Ours is a pre-1960 spec, but it is from 1961. We think it was ordered by a customer in 1961 that liked the older type more than the frshly released new one, so they built this one from spares for him - which my dad discovered soon during restoration as the car had only 1 (bigger) racing carb per value in stead of the usual 2 tinier ones... [:0] Runs a lot more stabile with 1 carb though. But I can talk for hoursand hours! My dad can talk even longer, you should be happy he is no TC member then... [:P]

It sure is an amazing car. He'd better enjoy it for as long as he can, as I will be 18 in less than a year! [}:)] LOL

Minis are a right of passage, my first car was a mini, then moved onto v dubs (yes I had a baja but it did'nt live to see the road) now I don't drive at all, gave up whe living in London and took the tube instead. may get another car this year as when I move off my boat I'll need a 12v outlet[;)].

Yes - rite of passage is a good phrase. I had two Mini's as a teenager, first my Mum's and then one I bought with the proceeds of my first proper summer job. Then went to a MKIII MG Midget (round arches) which was a rust bucket/money pit, but good fun with a straight-thru Peco and bigger SU's with K&N filter. Total tools required - 1 x 1/2 in. AF spanner. Several boring hatches later, now driving a Passat TDi 110 estate which handles current requirements (commute, children, band gear etc.) and has two cool 12v outlets in the boot which is ideal as a portable 'pits'. Will get something quick one day - Golf 4Motion/VR6/V5 etc. is top of the wish list at the moment. Dream on... (at least I got the 1/10 version now [:)])

As with everyone here it seems, my first car was a mini, and my second, third, fourth and so on. Think once you've got the mini bug it stays for a long time. I've got older now and decided to get something a little more plush and spacious. A Triumph Dolomite Sprint!!
