I can't believe how quickly the win turned into a lose! At least I didn't have to put up with loads of people shouting England leaving the pub near me, lol.

Sweden got one in extra time yesterday too... seems to be a trend 5-0 Sweden-Bulgaria though- shocker.... 2 goals were scored within a minute!

Here in the states cups gets little coverage and it usually takes place at 2-6 in the morning. I did manage to catch the Fra V Eng and how sweet of a game it was.

One thing I noticed was the British announcers were pretty bias and harsh on the French. Announcers showing passion and "rooting" for their favorite team is something we dont see over here. At the end of the game it sounded like the announcers hearts had been broken lol!

Good point and true, but I doubt the French announcers were exactly weeping for us during the game, Personally I don't see it as a grudge match and don't think it should be, But more a case of us and France have a pefectly healthy desire to beat each other at sport. I hope you noticed the quiet restrained respect and FEAR at times aswell LOL. We saw Thiery Henry do awsome things here last season and Zedan on the same side SCARY!! after 92 minutes of holding them off and to loose it like that I too was heartbroken [] but [^] to england anyway.

BTW Its historically correct for England not to win the opening game of all international tournaments ever. So its never been done not even in 1966 [].

LOL, I'm usually not too bothered about soccer, but I accidenatlly was watching the last few minutes of the England-France match and I was astonished! [:0]

What worries me more though, as far as I can be worried about soccer, is the Holland-Czech match today... first 20 minutes ended in 2-0, first break 2-1.after the break it got 2-2 and in one of the last minutes the Czech made another point! 2-3... [V]

Man that referee is mesuring with 2 units, one for Holland and one for the Czech! Only a blind man would not have seen Holland should have gotten that penalty, and not that red postcard... It's should have been an even match, 3-3. Holland was playing a very good match and the Czech were trying to 'bypass' the rules constantly IMHO.

The referee didn't make this match very fair, and I don't think the Czech won this one in a fair way. But it wasn't for 100% to blame on them, they can't help not being punished for their bad behaviour... But they shoudl be blamed for that behavious in the first place though... [8)] lol

If our eastern neighbours (the German) don't win from the Czech, we at least get a slim chance in losing winning some more matches... Otherwise the men in Orange will return homeward very soon.

Your eastern neighbors (we germans) will have a very hard time beating those Czechs in the end. [] Would you be so kind to order your orange team to go for a save and honorable 1:1 against Latvia, so the german team gets a slim chance to get to the next round with a 1:1 against Czech? []

Sjoerd and supergreg - I too watched the Holland/Czech Republic game but obviously from a different view point. Yes, Ruud was unlucky not to get a penalty, and the sending off was also a mistake. But the rest of the match was superb football, and probably the best game of the tournament so far. The attacking play was exciting to watch (Medved, Seedorf, Davids, Baros) and the two goal-keeprs were outstanding. I now look forward to Latvia beating Holland and the Czech's winning against Germany [}][}][] I just hope that Croatia don't play against England like they did in the second half against France [xx(] otherwise they will be homeward bound as well as the Dutch and/or Germans.

There is already a new estimated final match floating around in some german forums: Greece vs. Czech !! Not a bad guess in my opinion. [^]

Yes, I too think that the Czech-Holland match was superb football to watch, great action. But the referee did really spoil the game. He was not consequent enough in his pentalties: he is very picky on small misbehaviour, but he never noticed crude violation of the rules... Also some of the decisions of Advocaat ('our' coach) were sometimes dubious... [8)]

I sure hope we make it against Latvia - it's either the Germans or us... [] lol

Not that I can be bothered all that much though. []

I'm a great England footie fan, whenever they are playing I get all dressed up and go out and give the RX a thrashing on nearly empty roads just like the Saab ad on the telly!!!!

The longer England stay in the tournament the quieter the roads get and us bikers enjoy it more and more!!!!

The only thing you can hear outside are engine's with high rpm's .. even the birds hiding around these times []
