Any of you gadgety types got one of the Samsung D500 phones? My girlfriend has shown an interest in one as a Xmas pressie and I need to know if there are any gotcha's with this model before shelling out (they're not cheap!). Any info gratefully received. Cheers. David

I have a D500 - I guess the main thing you need to know is that it's been superceded by the D600. Mine was free and that was back in April, so I don't see why you should have to pay for it (unless you are on PAYG).

Thanks Roop. My g/f's on Virgin PAYG and doesn't want to go onto a contract (not really worthwhile). I knew about the D600, but Virgin want 350 quid for it on PAYG [xx(] (must reflect Jose's fee for endorsing it [;)]) . They still do the D500, but only in black and she wants a silver one... Bless em' [;)]

Any other 1.3mp camera phones worth looking at in the same bracket (around 150 quid sim-free) ??

Nokia 6230i, have two 6230 (same only lower res camera and display) since almost 2 years and am very satisfied with them, small and take normal memory cards (up to 512MB?) for photos or mp3s.

Also from what I have read Sony Ericsson K750i is a great phone in that budget class.

Cheers

I use a Motorola v635. I was looking at the D500 at the time I changed my phone, but I went with the v635 as it takes memory cards. It also has a uSB socket so it is easy to transfer files to it as it pops up on my computer as an external drive, just don't use the terrible included software.

1.3mp camera, video recording, mp3 player etc. Not as fashionable as the V3 RAZR but better performance.
