G'day blokes and sheilas,

Happy new year to you all.....

'Just finished cleaning up and re-rurbishing one of my Hotshots as a runner[:D], took it out the other day for a spin, and apart from the inefficient drive train that I thought would be fixed with ballraces (it has now been fixed with a Technipower[6]), the turning circle is a shocker and it understeers like a stubborn donkey[:(].  It's just not how I remember it driving...or am I just looking back through rose coloured glasses?

A penny for your thoughts folks.

Cheers,

Drew.

I had the same problem when I restored my first HotShot, I remember saying to my self " **** I don't recall this driving like this" but when the HotShot was new I was only 13 or 14 years old. So yes, you just might be seeing it in a nice shade of "rose"

Try using the narrow tires also at the back and softer springs front and/or harder springs at the back. Also you could try the grippier pins at the front.

Turning circle is bad... [:)]

One time I was running rear tyres on front rims and foam slicks on the rear, just so it could navigate around a tight packed-dirt track.

(otherwise doing 3-point turns was soooo embarassing!)

A friend of mine had the hotshot when it was new, and the turning was **** on it, slow as badword too. I remember vividly, since my scorcher, and all my other friends hornets, brats, grasshoppers and frogs where way faster and more nimble handling.

So the guy with the hotshot got a sour lip, and decided to scrap it, and went down to the hobbyshop for something "4wd, and faster than the hotshot", and got a porche 959. Now that was a fast car, NOTHING could touch that one. Me myself had to totally forget to dream about beefing up the scorcher to stay competetive as I had done up to that point, and so I got myself a road car, some hightech lightweight lexanbodied electronicspeed-controller marvel that was so fast all the guys decided to quit rc'ing after that.

The hotshot was a slug though, and didn't want to turn.

When I restored  mine, I felt it was WAY better than it used to be, and it seemed fast, until I finished my Kyosho Vanning restoration. But, I installed ball bearings and a Technipower when I rebuilt it. Also, I've never had any other electric cars besides the Hotshot. The turning radius is poor, but don't try to increase it or you'll start losing front dogbones.
