The turns on the Sport Tuned is an odd call. They should be either 23 turns, or 27 turns with advanced timing. There are a lot of varieties between different Sport Tuneds - they aren't all the same it seems... [8)]

Ok, now i'm confused[xx(]

I bought what I thought was standard sport tuned (in brown card box) from models in motion. No idea what turns it is. Is it safe to run or aint it?! Anyone out there actually doing so.

To add detail, got a ballraced car, and no special mods to gearing / pinion etc. The car is a KBF

Thought so, and thanks!

To be honest, I suppose these manufacturers have got to protect the product, and I've always suspected they set higher limits than necessary (I mean, if, in the lab, the ESC27 blew with a 26.5 turn motor (if there is such a thing!!), they are hardly going to label it a 27 are they?)

Also, the sport tuned is hardly a monster - I've read that is a simple copy of the stock 540 with a lower turn, no other mods.

I aint gonna be racing this baby flat out for 20 mins, with daft gearing.

Any other opinions?

You should be fine with a sport tuned and your esc.

I would make an educated guess that a sport tuned is 27T but it is definately heavily advanced.

Play save, gear lower (smaller pinion and/or larger spur) if the esc has it, turn down the current limit (punch control)

Cheers Paul.

What's the history of that motor, tw?

Bought new in UK or got it in a kit? [:D]
