does anyone know why my midnight pumpkin doesn`t wheelie? its all standard as far as i can tell, it has the standard 10 tooth pinion , but i`m not sure if the motor is a 540 or a 380. also what motors are good in theses and should i change the pinion ??

either your motor is shot or you have some binding in the gears because I can't keep my Midnight pumpkin on the ground.

as for motors, a good aftermarket 27turn would be sufficient.  I run a 12 turn in mine but thats' extreme

Pumpkins didnt come with 380's unless some one changed the motor. If they did the 380's have an adaptor that attaches to the motor.  Are the stock springs still in the truck?? When I changed from the stock ones to aftermarket oil filled the truck stoped pulling the wheels and would just squat and go.

a pumpkin should wheelie just fine in stock form, so something is defiantly wrong.

heres a few checks i can think of that might help find the problem.

first off, are you using an ESC (electronic speed control) or the stock mechanical type using a servo and a resistor?

with an esc, the pumpkin wheelies easier than with an msc. but your truck should still wheelie ok if its got an msc fitted. check the msc is reaching its full speed, it should have 3 steps. if its worn out it could be causing the problem.

radio gear - check the speed of your throttle servo in the truck, it could be old and moving slowly, that would stop the truck from pulling wheelies too.

batteries - the pumpkin will not wheelie from a standing start with tiered out batteries, so make sure your batteries in the car are ok. they run well with anything over 1400 nicad cells.

motor - check the motor is a 540. if you've got the 10 T pinion it will be mounted on a plastic adapter plate. if its worn out the truck wont be reaching its top speed, nor will it wheelie.

floating rear axel springs - these are little sprung bits of wire, they should be located where the axel pivots and mounts onto the chassis. if they are missing the truck wont wheelie quite as easily.

cva shocks as oposed to the stock "pogo stick" shocks dont make much difference to the way the truck wheelies in my opinion.

tyres - check the rear tyres are glued to the rims! if not, they will be spinning in the rims, wasting the torque and stopping the wheelies.

thats about all i can think of at the moment, hope you have some luck fixing the truck [:D]

i recommend getting an ESC if you dont already have one fitted, the truck is soooo much nicer to drive with an ESC.

hope this helps!

Can anyone tell me how to fit chrome wild willy2 wheels to my midnight pumpkin, I know i need some sort of adaptor but what, and where i can get them i`m not sure of. PLEASE HELP!

I got a set of these adaptors when I bought a set of HPI 2.2 truck rims. I think they should work but can say for sure since I have neither the Pumpkin nor Wild Willy 2 wheels.
