Heya guys... Just wondering if someone owns these and has had problems with it?

I bought 2 once... blew up the first one after a day or two with a 17x3 (manual says ESC goes to 13 turns).. blew the second one up with a Tamiya T type motor... and my first that came back out of warranty blew up after 5 minutes running with a GM purple Tiger 17x1. All motors were in different cars with the right wiring and all the stuff (my other ESC LRP V6 and Mtronics Speed Max didn't have problems with it). Has anyone had this? Or do you know why this happens? Even the wires came out unsoldered and the microchips blew out into the air... [:(]... I'm about to trow my second one that came out of warranty in the trashcan without even trying it... [:(!][:(!]

Don't LRP have a "lifetime" warranty?? [|)]

Have seen a fella with a Nosram Dominator Power (nee LRP) that just

self-immolated... he wasn't doing anything special, just running

on a track when it just went up in Smoke & FLAMES! [:0]

Got a Dom (nonPower) & I'm too scared to use the things now...

They got "Limited" lifetime warranty...

And it seems when it blows it self up without reason... they don't include it in the warranty... Payed € 75 for 1 when i bought it new. "Repair" costs for the first were € 65 [:(]... so far for "lifetime" warranty

I wouldn't buy Nosram again, I had two dominators which both melted running only mild motors, I was running a technigold (21t) and the other a Team Orion 17t. Not impressed with them. At least when I melted my other ESC's (Novak and Mtroniks) it was with good reason, ie: sank under water, motor siezed, too hot a motor etc, etc....The one ESC I have been most impressed with is one of the cheapest, the Futaba MC230CR, My daughter has had this running in her car for ages with a technigold (21t!) and it has been covered in dirt and water and still works.

Never had a problem running a Nosram Dominator with 12 turn motors. I've ran an LRP IPC for years with no problem either.

Although a while ago a mate had a car smoking on the track before it died. When it was looked at after the race the Mtroniks RMX ESC was just a black molten mess.

My personal favorites though are my old Tekins. Absolutely bulletproof. Could be why they went under, not enough repairs/replacements to boost the profits[;)]

Tekin were my favorites too, I've got a 10 year old one and an 8 y o they have both seen loads of racing and have never given any trouble.

I have to point out tho that you must gear lower if you start to run hot motors (smaller pinion and/or larger spur) The esc current limiter (punch control) is there for a good reason, run it as low as possible (50-60 amps is a good start). If you gear too low or limit too low you will only go slow. Go the other way and you could cook motors esc and battery!!!!

Start gentle until you get a "feel" for what you are doing.

Motor maintenance is important also, if your motor needs a service it can also cook esc batts and itself.

Most serious racers skim the comm etc after 5 5minute races!

Cheers, Paul.
