why by...?

whenever i post a comment on a movie or in a showroom, my username does not appear, but instead it just says 'by '. i'm logged on, so i don't understand this. please help me chris!! [][][]

It's a longstanding bug. It's happened to me occasionally, and seems to be random in nature.

I'd guess that when you write a comment, your username is held in a session variable, and that session is timing out by the time you submit the comment, and the name gets lost.

This is supported by the fact that your comment name is not live to your current name - I changed my TC name, and the old one is still displayed on old comments.

I'm sure it's on Chris' bug list. If not, bug him about it

Sounds plausible. If you opened a movie page and then done nothing else while it downloaded and that download takes more than 15mins then it would forget who you are. If you don't leave a comment then its not a problem as the next page you visit will just log you back in again.

Sounds like I just need to add the 'log you back in' code to the comment processings page. Will fix tonight.
