Lost posts...

Just noticed that my number of post is like 34....Before the close down I have ove[li]r 200...They have vaporized..This could be of the same consequence as the Burning of the “Books of Alexandria“[li]…LOL…Anyway are these posts lost forever??…I believe I have /had over 200 post and some had nothing to do with SRB believe it or not…A Tragic loss to the knowledge of the this site LOLOL..Just wondering if I was the only one effected…Was this a conspircy among the mods??[]AS you know Chirs I have something of great value to the Club which I may hold for ransom till my posts are returned...[6]Regards Jerry…

Also tamiya models counting on showrooms http://tamiyaclub.com/mainshowroom.asp is messed up, on many member is shows more Tamiyas then total of all their showroom items.

The posts are all still there, its just a few people with duplicate accounts on the old forum (often with the same username or different email address etc), when the system was migrated the posts counts were picked up from just one of the accounts. Which is what you see now. The only way to get them back is for me to manually match accounts up by hand, and its not high on the list of priorities at the moment I'm afraid. Will happen eventually.

The numbers in the showroom is a completely seperate thing, thats down to some re-adjustments I'm working on - didn't realise anyone actually cared about those ones any more. They will show the correct number shortly.

The number of posts for me was much higher when the new forums started,

it's just dropped suddenly in the past few days. Not bothered about it

(lost 2000 posts and still listed as a top 25 contributor!) but just

commenting in case it's another bug.

For those that have had a lower number of posts from the beginning the above still stands. For those that have had them drop in the last week read on...

There might be a reason for that - This forum is has a new method of measuring a users actions on the board, posts alone are a bit too simplistic and open for abuse (not saying of you guys would do it [] ) So this forum also comes with a 'points' system - see on the left under you name details.

I'm still getting my head around it, but basically it gives you points based on, number of posts, how many replies, length of replies, points of those you reply too and about 6 other factors. You can probably still abuse it but its a lot more effort to do.

Anyway in setting it up I had to run a few housekeeping returns which may have effected the post counts - the old numbers were bought directly across from the old system, so its possible  the old system either had problems and the number there was wrong which has now been corrected or the process I kicked off to activate the points has missed some posts for some reason.

Its still an area I'm looking at and playing with so it might jump about for a few days yet but then should settle down.
