In the stock variant of the tl-01, the motor is very unprotected. I want to use the mini 4wd on really rough terrain and so I have to cover the motor in order to prevent moist and dirt getting into it.

Ohh..ok...Thanks,...waiting to get hold of a TL01 chassis now..and the project will begin!!!!

Thanks again simon.

Buy the way uwe,the mad body from rainbow is quite a bit wider than the normal mini shell so should cover the wheels a bit more...does'nt look very 'rally' though!!!!!!!!!

Hello Uwe-san, Simon-san,

Uwe-san,

What a tough race your MINI fight at!

Please try hard!! but take it easy also!! LOL

I think it needs some protection surely,

if you want to use only modified motors for your rally because

they seem much sensitive to sands.

And as you said, you have to care heat problem but dust next.

In the case of me, my motor did not break even if there was no dust cover.

because I usually use a stock RS-540SH for my Rally-cars.

Its air gaps between core and magnets are wide as you know.

And sands go through it freely.

Well, I present another fake decal to you!!

I believe it gives honor to the man who drives his M03 on the dirt!!! LOL

Cheers all.

Grahoo-san,

I love seeing all of the M03 Mini Rally conversions and I think it's great.  I am rebuilding my onroad race M03 Mini into a rally Mini, like yours!  The videos and images are so inspiring.  I hope to gather some friends so we too can have a rally here in the US!

I really like your roof rack with the spare tires, it looks great!  Wow...I really want to work on my Mini now!

Hi Uwe-san, Jun-san[:)]

Uwe-san congratulations!

You seem to make your TL-mini's test run successfully. and thank you for nice pics.

Your pics remind me of the old Monte Carlo and RAC Rally pics.

It seemed to be fun truly, but was your radio all right?

Jun-san, Thank you for your kind word.

It features new light-weight front and rear uprights

and includes eight 1050 (not 1150) ball bearings for the new designed uprights.

I think its parts suitable for Mini Rally also.

So, I am looking forward much to its spare parts now.

Last weekend I went to my home circuit and was driving my Mini all day with some of my friends.

We kept on battle that is twenty minutes per a pack.

It was very fun.

Cheers!

Grahoo, maybe Tamiya already listened to you, as in TamiyaUSA site a Suzuki Swift bodyset is listed and Swift is very popular here as a Mini Rally car, maybe they will sell it on M03 with rally tires? [H]

Cheers

Thanks Theo-san, [;)]

I'm sorry, a few lines disappeared from my last post!!!! [:o]It was my mistake but exactly, it means just that I wanted to say.

Yes, I look forward to their Suzuki Swift Super 1600 bodyshell and new M03M chassis. LOL

Perhaps, they will hear our voice if we continue requesting about it.

But I have no idea yet about it.

I think Tamiya does not decide selling their Mini Rally tyre for the time being because they must gain success of their new Offroaders and Tamtech gear at first.

Its official now thats its the rally version [:D]http://tamiya.com/japan/news/news0603/news1.htm question is if will have rally tires though

Good job Theo-san,

A "SUZUKI" means surely a sea bass also, but its translator is funny. I have laughed for few minutes.[:D]

Thank you Simon-san,

I have plan to edit some DVD which recorded our offroad-meeting next.

But I have to go to sleep at first because I couldn't sleep well through this week to edit the movie with my old and slow[sn] computer. LOL

grahoo san.

hi, i live in Osaka, but I am from Australia, I would love the chance to visit some of these events, but it is hard for me to find them, plus I don't have a real car. I have many Tamiya cars, including 3 M0 chassised cars.

I would like to meet you one day, maybe we can talk on email sometime. Thanks

Anthony

Hello Anthony san, I'm sorry for delay.

Some people of our member live in Kansai area, so I will ask them to pick you up when we have the event. So please keep your hopes.

There are no problem about our languages.

My friend Bakaguyjean who lives in Kanagawa already joined us.

He is an American and our first meeting was success.

I hope also you will enjoy our event together.

Hello minijosh-san

I'm sorry, there is no air force base near from Toyama-city which I live in but

there is a lot of circuit and many shops near from Yokota air base.

and I think Yokota base is not so far from Tamiya circuit. It is only 130 mile from Yokota air  base.

My city is more than 300 mile from Tamiya circuit, but we Toyama members often go to there by car.

Therefore, our meeting is possible enough if you will moving to Yokota air force base. [;)]

Hey Grahoo thanks for the nice words on RCCA's site.  What kind of wheels and tires are you running? Did you have to make your own rally blocks or are they made by some other company? Tamiya let you run your car with all those mods or was it not a real Tamiya race?

Posted

Grahoo - great page - you've given me some more ideas for my mini!

I wonder if there is enough intereset in the M chassis to justify another forum? It would be great to have all the ideas, mods, etc. in one place...

One other thing - is there a reason that you aren't using the quick release battery holder? You seem to have just about every other hopup available...

Yes grahoo..great site..well done!!..

Gruntfuggly....how about not only another forum..but a mini rally!!!![:D]...i'm not to far from you in kent....any one else be interested??..keep it simple...off road,...a few cones to mark out a track..27turn motors??

Hi, minijosh.

Of course it was true Tamiya's event.

Last year I was surprised when I noticed that race from their registration form on their site.

I was afraid no one wants to enter Mini-Rally except me and some my friends.

But I didn't have to worry. There were 48 entries to Mini-Rally class that day.

To tell the truth, there were 60 registrations but 12 people could not come to Tamiya circuit by heavy snow. Also Tamiya's staffs were surprised by this unexpected happening because they thought less than 20 people in Mini class. It was the dream race to me and my Rally friends.

We had to make own Rally-Brocks for that Tamiya's event.

Perhaps, it was just a barrier of that event to some people.

I believe more people can enjoy the race like this if Tamiya would start to sell their Mini Rally tyres.

At the other event, we are often using HPI or Speed mind's Rally tyres.

But of course, we must use Tamiya's Rally Blocks at Tamiya's event.

I think Mini Rally should not become too competitive because its event must be open-event for many people(contain women and children) .  So, we should think about its rules carefully.

Thank you

Hi Gruntfuggly-san, Sunktothenutz-san.

Thank you for visit to my site.

Thank you for kind words.

There is no special reason that I am not using its holder.

Sometimes I want to get it but always it is "sold out" when I go to shop. LOL

Let's enjoy Mini Rally all together around the world!
