As I wrote above

"Btw hydro comes from hydor which means water in Greek, while hygro means generally fluid. Although hygroscopic is the common used term, actually according to the word roots would mean a material that observes/absorbs any fluid (not necessarily water), while hydroscopic would be the correct for water observing/absorbing substances, but its seems it scientists took the wrong word back then, like also for hydraulic machines which have usually oils and not water."

in the context of this topic "hydroscopic" would be more correct, but its not an official term as scientists who first used/created it confused hygro and hydro, so hygroscopic is actually used as official term for something that has to do with water and should be actually called hydroscopic.

I don't mind which word is being used but we had such a discussion back at college some years ago.

You can read an opinion here:

Still, I haven't found an article which explains the effect of the feature to plastics.

I'll ask some of my colleagues.

Hi. I just tried removing some paint with Mr Muscle oven cleaner and it doesn't work.

What am I doing wrong?

Oven cleaner seems to work better at 'warmer' temperatures..

Did you appy it 'cold' (below room temperature)

I AM NOT recommending that you HEAT the aerosol can in any way!

THAT would be dangerous!  But if you let the can soak in a bath of

warm tap water (try this with the body as well) it should make the oven

cleaner a little more 'reactive'.

It could well be the paint is the problem.

On enamel (spray or paint) it does the job very quickly.

On "carpaint" (= maybe acrylic paint) it doesn't work all the time.

I'm not sure if Tamiya paint is removable with ovencleaner.

What do I do to remove Tamiya Spray Primer? Will EZ off or Brake Fluid work?

I hear that it can be more difficult to remove and I have a whole Blitzer BEetle shell that has been sprayed in it in an attempt (my own) to rectify prior painting errors!

Help!!!

I used oven cleaner a few times and on my Sand Scorcher body as well. It worked great. Just make sure you wear dish washing gloves so it doesn't harm your skin. And wear old clothes. Good luck.
