I want to modify my stock clod (fully ball raced) to a racing one (as opposed to a crawler) and want to know what people would recommend.

I am currently running it with a Novak EVX ESC and will be dropping in some modified Traxxas E Maxx Reedy Badd Maxx Motors so my batteries don't melt.

I like the look of the GMade Dragoon racing kit but is it worth the money?  Something like the Featherweight 14" one seems like good value for money.

I also want to waterproof as the clod as much as possible as I live near fields with a lot of water and mud and like to try and get the clod stuck and so apart from having the wrong ESC, wondered what people would recommend.  The wheels always seem to get water in no matter how much I glue them (and seal the hole in the wheel), is it worth getting the beadlock wheels from RC4WD, they are expensive and just wondered if there were any other alternatives.

Are Mtroniks bringing out a new Viper Monster truck ESC that will handle the higher load?

Racing clod eh ?  Many recommendations to make then.  The tried and true Thundertech Chassis' available are great.  I have a Dragoon chassis (sorry cant get a pic posted I've tried) it is a beautiful piece of craftmanship - check my showroom ! Twinset has (or had) the Spider for crawling but looked like it could race.  The feather Lite looks good as well.  Basically comes down to preference.

Beadlocks are great rims - functional and look sweet as well.  The beadlocks on my Dragoon were purchased from RC4WD on Ebay.  If you keep your eyes open sometimes he has them on auction (when he is clearing out stock I think) and you can get a good deal if the bids don't get out of hand.

Nice clod thats exactly what I want to do.  Do you know if the standard clod body will fit the Dragoon?  For sentimental reasons I am quite attached to it.

Whats the performance like of handling compared to the stock clod?  Is it in a different galaxy?

Thanks.  The diffs are unlocked (I think some guys lock the rear one for bashing).  Any chassis will be a big performance upgrade over the stock one, you should be able to drop a stock clod body on with some tweaking.  I have only run my Dragoon once and it was before I put in the Kyosho Mayhem motors, I found the suspension pretty tight but I think it would just need to work in a bit.  If only I had the heart to break it in [;)].  Sadly my items seem to be built for my shelf only.  Have a look in the Clodbuster section for more ideas (or TWINSET's showroom).
