H I, THINKING OF GETING A NITRO TRUCK ,CANT DECIDE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE TNX AND TERRCRUSHER, CAN ANYBODY GIVE ME SOME ADVICE? CHEERS MATT

Hi Matt,<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

the main difference is, that the terra crusher can go in reverse. This is unfortunately his weak point; the gearbox could be easy damaged, when you shift from full back to full front to make a wheelie. Another difference is the engine; the TNX has a slightly improved one, and you don’t need a separate Glow plug battery, because the Plug gets its energy from the starter. Other differences are the body and the wheels (terra crusher wheels are slightly bigger). I think this are the main differences. Personally I would recommend the TNX, because it’s gearbox is near to bulletproof. You only have to check the slipper clutch, because you can easy break the spur gear if it’s not tight enough. Hope I could help.

RC-Rudi is right, TC had many gearbox problems (and first batches with their motors), TNX is a much more sucessfull racer and reliable. Are you sure though about the glowplug, all TNXes I have seen need a seperate battery for it and I doubt they changed it later?

DJTheo you are right about the plug battery. My fault, sorry guys. The TNX needs always a separate plug battery.  You don’t need a separate plug battery for the Terracrusher. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

thanks for your comments guys, im looking for it to be a good all rounder rather than racing, which one would you say is the most durable? whats the parts/spares availabilty like?, the terra crusher seems more robust, what do you think?

Despite TC looking more massive, TNX is more robust/reliable and since TC is discontinued since some time also spare part availabilty for TNX is better, so choice is easy imho [:)]

I can't really speak for the TC as I have never run one.  But a while ago I considered buying either a Savage or TNX.  I ran  both and eventually went for the TNX.  I don't know if its similar but the chap in my LHS advised me to stay well clear of the reverse Savage, he reckons its more trouble than its worth and very easily broken (Cannot say if this applys to the TC or not though)

Personally I would recommend the TNX, its nice and light so pretty powerful. As tough as old boots, I have given mine loads of abuse and its still going strong (touch wood).  Its also very easy to clean and maintain as the various parts are nicely spaced out so you can easily get a rag in between different bits to clean etc.  The electric start is also great (Again, in my opinion) - much better than the HPI rotostart.

As others have said its a proven racer - but I don't race, I just have fun by occassional running and its just as great at this.

If I could change anything on the TNX it would be the position of the exhaust, as its a side exhaust the rear suspension and wheel on the same side can get a bit gunky so it would have been much better to have a rear pipe system (I'm considering getting one at the moment).  But then, most nitro's will suffer from this anyway as most have side exhausts so this is probably me splitting hairs.  Good luck with your decision though.
