There is a write up on this car in Radio Race Car International magazine, October 2003. Haven't got a flatbed scanner or I could have copied it.

vs... the original?

Technically, its not really a 'replacement'.

The original TBe3 is a "Tamiya Catalog" product, item #58299.

The Surikarn Limited is a TRF product, item #49283.

(A bit like how AMGs are sold in Merc dealerships?)

If you disregard the Red anodized aluminum parts ,

there's really not much difference in performance.

Titan hex screws and titan turnbuckle shafts

-TBe3 doesn't have any serious weight problem, and Ti will only

make your car underweight. Stock parts work perfectly fine.

Rubber sealed ball bearings

-nice to have, great bearings... but if you're gunna degrease them

might as well just stick with the standard metal-sheilded fare.

Tamiya blueseals need less maintenance if untouched, that's all.

3 mm thick lower deck

-original is 2.5mm; improvement is marginal.

Reinforced diff. joint with rear lightweight universal shafts

-diff joint works fine, rear lightweight shafts might be the go.

Newly designed aluminum upper arm mount

-only useful if you use the tuning options that delivers, but

otherwise the shocktower mounts work just as well.

I think I've gotten the Ally mount a little bit bent after

ripping off a rear arm... haha, lucky it was a blue piece.

Newly designed front/rear special damper stay

-different shock towers... different body post location at the back.

Pain if you run both cars.

Newly designed carbon plate for one-way unit

-cheap option, you'd have bought it for your std car already.

Biggest disadvantage with the TBe3SL is that one CAN'T BUY RED SPARES.

Yeah, all the red bits in the kit are exclusive to the kit; any e3SL

that's being seriously used will eventually turn blue. [:I]

And someone mentioned that the Red also fades. [:0]

(I'm keeping a close eye on that!!)
