hi

just bought a twin motor truck with a schumacher formula rv 1000. the motors are 19x2. it has cut out a couple of times.

is this the correct esc for this or will it run 2 x 27 turn motors better.

or what esc would run 2 x 19 turn motors.

cheers,

doug.

it may run 2x 27's but obviously the truck will be slower. If want to go for different esc recommend the speedmaster silverstar ultra that will handle 2x 17 turns, and a good price of £52 from modelsport.

Does anyone know what the Schumacher formula RV 1000 is rated to motor wise?

(sorry to bring up an old thread)

your best bet is to email or call Schumacher or visit a well established schumacher dealer ,

there is no reference to the esc online that i can find , its more than likely that its an mtronics but it may also be a cheap chinese item as schumacher do most of there buying from manufacturers in china and then do the finishing touches(box it up) in the uk , if it is mtronix then you probably wont get much help from them, i tried to get info on an old mtronics esc quite a few years ago and they couldnt help at all, giving only a recommendation to buy a new esc from them !

good luck .

They replied quickly and said: "We can’t give a definitive answer, But we believe it was around 16t"

Just remembered I have an old Mtroincs digi Sport RV Reverse, and it does look suspiciously similar!

I have no idea what the turn limit of this bad boy is either, email sent :)

Ah, no wonder the poor thing was struggling with the OP's two 19t motors! When running twin motors in parallel, one needs to have an ESC rated for half the motors' turn count. So he would have had to use a 9t-capable ESC. The RV1000 would have struggled even on 27t silver cans - 30t crawler motors would have suited it better.
