Which bodies do you use for your crawlers?

Which bodies do you use and where do you get them?  Are they generally tamiya bodies or other makes?

Well I like Beetle bodies or Stadium trucks. I get them at Tower if they are still made, otherwise Ebay.

The Proline jeep was great, then they discontinued it

For Clod based crawlers, most Maxx and Savage shells are of suitable proportions, HPI do;

Ford Bronco

 

Jeep Rubicon

If you have a TLT based truck, most 1/10 scale Stadium trucks look good, as well as Stampede/Rustler shells, and even Twin Detonator/Blackfoot Extreme.

 

With all of them, you might need to trim the shells down, or limit your susp. travel a bit, so the tyres don't foul on the bodywork at full articulation

Anything you like, really. I've done everything from HPI's F-100 to the Cayenne Turbo, with a couple of Jeeps & Broncos thrown in for good measure. By the time you hack the fenders off, it doesn't much matter. If you're going for a scale look, then pick a truck you like and go with it. They don't all have to be Jeeps. Different is good []
