Difference between Acoms AS-11 and AS-12 servos?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

as subject really.

Can anyone tell me the difference between the Acoms AS-11 and AS-12 servos?  Specifically, are the connections to the reciever on the AS-11 the same size as those on the AS-12?

Cheers,

G

Hi,

After a quick google the AS-12 is the modern / current Acoms standard

servo, although couldnt find exact specs its probaly about 3.3kg/22sec

which would put it on par with similar like the Futaba S3003.

The AS-11 must be an older version with probably less torque and

speed.  As for the connectors they are probably wired the same but

the plug  may be pysically different - having said that

manufactors tend to stick to the same rather than chop and change, from

memory Acoms use a Hitec sytle that doesnt have the little tab often

seen on futaba gear.  To answer the question (at last lol!) yes,

its more than likly the connectors will be same and if they aren't then

worse case is having to remove a plastic tab.

Cheers

Liam

Thanks.

The reason for the question is that my Baja King came with AS-16 servos.  The connections on the AS-16 are smaller than on the AS-11 servos of my Grasshopper.

The receiver on my Grasshopper needs replacing and I saw a receiver on eBay that specifically said that it was for AS-12's (and not AS-11's).

Oh well.....had better keep looking!

Cheers,

G
