Hi all,

I broke my Hotshot 1 upper chassis and is looking for a replacement.

Wondering whether the Hotshot 2 chassis will fit in the Hotshot 1??

Any help is appreciated

Thanks

The Chassis are identicle, apart from the Hotshot 2 has an access hatch on the top (you dont get the cover with the chassis though)

Supershot & Hotshot had identical chassis.  The Hotshot II chassis (as already stated) comes with an opening for crystal changes-- which at the time was a godsend.  I believe the hatch door was in the press parts bag, which are not too easy to find NIB.  Good luck.

False! Hot shot and Hot Shot II lower chassis are different.

The second version is larger in one side to make more room for servo and receiver. Upper chassis is different for the opening. Don't know if mixed upper and lower chassises will fix.

Cheers

I don't think anyone said that Hotshot & Hotshot II had the same mechanism boxes (lower chassis).  I believe this thread was about the upper chassis half on these rigs as that part is more prone to injuries.  I've never broken a mechanism box other than stripping out or splitting a few of the screw holes.

The Supershot & Hotshot are definitely the same top & bottom and I'm pretty sure the chassis holes line up from the Hotshot 2 to the original mechanism box as well.  I seem to remember having a couple mated that way back in the late 80s.  Though the mind grows weaker with age....

Yes, you are right. I only adviced that the chassis are differents and could be they don't fit. I could check but have no time to disassemble both my cars and everyone knows how is boring disassemble Hot Shot chassis.

Nop. The chassies are identical exept for the hatch in the HS2 chassis and the ears for the switch stay on the control box. HS2 also uses different screws and they are all of same length. HS1 also has long holes for the speed servo and HS2 not.The frontmost holes are also reinforced on the HS2 chassis.

So you can use HS1 control box on a HS2 chassis and "vise versa"
