I need a replacement for an EVX that came with the E-Maxx, any suggestions? It needs to handle 2 550 Titan motors, and 12 cells, so pretty much the same spec as the EVX.

Wow, that's some ESC! Alternatively, the Hot Bodies ESC as provided with the Ezilla might do the trick, and is surprisingly cheap. As the E-Zilla runs 12 cells (14.4V) and twin GT550 motors (which I assume are exactly the same as the Titans?) it should be up to spec, and is a lot less pricey. I suppose that if you've cooked the E-Maxx ESC you probably give it a hard time though, so perhaps the Novak would be a better long term investment [:)]

Yup, my ESC died a horrible death.....

I'm very surprised about  the price of that HB ESC, seeing as new EVX's are way more than that.

Thanks guys.

i would think twice about buying a hot bodies esc,my ezilla is a month old a only ran 3 times and im having problems with my esc now, perhaps i got a lemon though,it seems like a very good quality item at first and from talking to other ppl on the ezilla forums there esc is holding up very good, you could probably find and barley used one for 50 bucks on ebay

You really can't go wrong with the Super Duty. It's a little spendy, but worth every penny. It'll handle any motor/battery combo you can throw at it and come back for more, and the BEC side is nice and beefy, too. Novak is a good company to deal with if you ever have a problem with it.

Depends where you are in the UK the Novak speed controllers are only covered for 30 day warranties and after that they want to charge you what a new one will cost on the bay.

My second EVX has now broken, possibly because it got wet when driving in the snow.  I like water and being able to go drive through puddles etc and the Novak ones seem to blow up if they get a slight splash.  Does anybody know of a decent waterproof one?  The Mtroniks Sonik4 SUPER E-Truck is the one I was looking at but no one seems to stock it any more.  Any ideas

Heh, as a matter of fact, I just fried mine yesturday because of water damage. I was chasing a dog in deep snow when my Clod came to a dead stop.[:(]

The Mtroniks Super-E is still current, it's just so expensive that we (and I would think any other dealer) would only get it to order against a firm customer order.  I'd give you the price off Mtroniks web site, only it's crashed...

It is waterproof though.  I had one in a TXT-1 that ended up in the sea...  ESC completely unharmed.  Receiver didn't like it though... and the TXT still has lots of rusty screws that I must replace one day as a result...
