Finally, finally...I have managed to get my hands on a Hotshot "series 1" bumper. Thats the good news.

The bad news is that it is not new but in fairly good used condition (I am convinced this part was never released as a spare part by Tamiya), ie no cracks but some scratches mainly on the front and underside. No deep gouges or anything but enough to be noticeable close up.

Soooo...until I manage to find a brand new unused one this will have to do for my shelf queen...but is there any way of getting rid of the scratches or at least improving the appearance of it??

you can sand it down a bit with fine grid sandpaper & a block ,

then poshish it up again (manual, a dremel of some sort will give to much friction heat)

But, this only works on the real light scratches, not on -inpact- damage

Did this a fiew times with parts, but it is a load of work :)

Dont like the sound of sanding it down. I want to keep the original look. Might try the bees wax though.

Is there any kind of filler that has been tried and tested?

Honda Spray Polish works like "MAGIC" on plastic for scratches. Trust me you won't be disappointed!!
