I'm not 100% certain but I think that someone is trying to scam me out of a car [V]

The situation is this? about 2 weeks ago I was contacted by a guy through the Tamiyaclub Email system as regards to one of the cars I have in my trade section, anyway after some rather unusual negociations the guy said that he wanted to buy up all my remaining cars that for sale in one lot and he was prepared to drive all the way down from Gateshead in newcastle and pay in person with cash? the day he was suppsed to be coming was Monday 15th March.

anyway after that I didn't hear a thing from him, I emailed him twice last week to try and get in touch but nothing happened? anyway tonight I gets a email from his Wife saying that hes been i'll in hospital and unable to come down to see me, however she goes on to say that he sent me a Paypal for £30 and wants to know when I will be sending the car to them which they paid for?

to thing is I have NOT recieved a Paypal from them and My Paypal address is different to the Hotmail account which I use for all my TC Emails, I had not given my Pp address or my home address to this person? nor had he said anything about sending any money via paypal, all he had mention was that he Could send a Paypal if needs be?

if a Pp had been sent to my Hotmail account I would have got an Email telling me so which I have not, now I'm very parranoid about getting stiched up over the internet, it's so easy to do and this has all the hall marks of a net scam to me, but why try and cheat me out of a nearly worthless car like a Kyosho Outlaw raider thats only worth £30?

I do know that there are certain hotspots in the UK were scam artists operate from, this person calls himself "Geordie" and is addressed to Gateshead in Newcastle? their Email address starts with Grd269@ has anyone had experience in dealing with this person before?

I could be that I'm barking up the wrong tree and that the wife is assuming that he sent the payment cos he mentioned "Paypal" and "£30" in a previous Email, if he's not around to check up on he Emails then shw might be doing on his behalf and getting a little confused in the process?

all I want to know is this person a known crook or is this just me being overly parranoid as usual [8)]

Can't see its a scam as they are not demanding anything and no money has changed hands, have you explained that you haven't had any money from him yet?

Just ask her to send the TransactionID of the PP payment, then forward to to paypal as an query.
