Trade forum..Is it just me or are some members just plain rude. They ask for parts. You give them a reply and the link just dies. No, Thank you, or I don't need the item any more or any reply at all. Why ask for something and not acknowledge the person who most likely spent some time looking for the item you requested???

Or some poor soul is looking for a part that he is the only one in the club that does not have 25 hiden away. Yet no one will take the time to help him out. I don’t know maybe I am just getting old and courtesy has been lost along the way.

Most times if I have the part I make an effort to try and help..and have given away more parts than I have ever sold..

The Trades forum is making ebay look better..You can accept a little discourtisy from the bay but you should not have to accept it from club members...

Yeah, I've had some recent problems with people taking ages getting back to me, thus defeating the purpose, as I've already probably gotten what I needed after 6 weeks. Also had someone inquiring "how much would you like to spend" and when I ask back "for which part are you asking?"... I never hear back. I've even offered parts and never heard back, and I'm the type that will give it for whatever they think its worth. i fel the intent is to trade and build relationships among the TC members, not to be some kind of money making parts broker - that is what ebay is for.

But then there are those great experiences like just last week when some guy named Chuck offered me a spare Super Champ bumper for free, and only asked that I remember him if he ever has a need for a part one day. That's what it is all about, and you can bet that I'll return the favor, if not to him, then I'll pass along the good vibe to some one else.

I haven't experienced any problems myself, actually I've had great luck !  Recently a member was contemplating an ebay listing for a part but he saw my "want" add and next thing you know I had the item.  A few weeks ago I saw a want add and emailed my "for sale" add for the item he was looking for - bingo ! sale made.  Of course I have had one or two inquiries that never answered me after my response but with so many folks browsing through or passing by the site it should be expected.  Hopefully my luck will continue [;)]. Check my trades section folks - you never know what's in there [:)].  I have also had a few great experiences asisting members getting parts that were not available to them and have myself been assisted by a few TC Members to locate a recent addition to my showroom.  Big applause to the following members whom I have had great transactions / assistance from:

Twinset, Shodog, Cul Tech, Incredible_Serious, and a couple of others that I forget the usernames of (sorry fellas [*-)]).

Remember the topic that was started last year, where basically people listed stuff for free as long as whoever takes something lists their stuff etc etc?

Maybe we should start it again as i think it was a great idea, and personally i have loads of "bits" i have no use for!

What do folk think?

Cheers

It's disappointing when you send somebody something they've posted a WANT for, for nothing, and you don't even get a 'it's arrived' or a 'thanks' back...

I know it's been discussed several times before, but it would be nice if some sort of limited feedback system could be added to the trade room...

I have had some good trades and baduns hence my recent request for some type of feedback for good and bad trades, it met with mixed reactions about 50/50 id say. I always react to responses to my trade/wanted ads even if its to say no thanks im sorted or whatever, a little common courtesy costs nothing but is getting quite rare. I must say that my most recent trade went like clockwork and im very happy with my end of it, thanks modelmaniac!

hey, thanks for the kind words Bangstick!

Cheers for a smooth trade also.

I think simple manners and good communication skills are just something that us decent folk take for granted and others need to brush up on me thinks.

Just like to say thanks to: Bangstick, PeterCabrio, Jamadz and James (Desert Gator) sorry mate i forgot your user name!

All these guys are great, i never traded before but traded with all these guys in one week!!!

Nice one!

i agree with the person who started this thread. it used to be that members helped eachother. not so much now but you do have the hard core of members that still give parts just to be helpful/ i have given lots of parts and never even charged postage , but i have been put off as late by people just not even bothering to answer, and this seems to be getting worse i have asked for parts i dont mind paying but some members are charging so much i might as well buy everything on ebay at least you expect to get ripped off there lol.

Huff ain't kidding.....About a year ago I posted a want ad for some SRB

sponge rear axles and he came through quickly and would take no money.

[:)] I had other people offer as well, I remember being quite pleased

with the results.

Thanks Huff and everyone else who helped me out.[;)]
