I'm wondering if we should drop the hornet races and replace the two of them with a

2wd Re release race.

and

4wd Re release race

Or is more interesting to race the re re's with the modern equlavalents?

The listings so far is quite a good indication of the popularity of the races but you still get loads on the day booking in. XC + Hummers for example was low on advance booking last year but ended up being quite a packed race.

I think the Re Re kits should be categorised as their original number. So Top Force can race with Vanquish and Manta Rays, Hotshots, Supershots etc

How about a Modern 4WD tamiya, and a none Tamiya race?

Maybe keep one Hornet race??

Probably just leave things as they are - that said look out for last minute changes in the running order. Just thinking 2 hornet races seems a bit much - maybe there is another race  we should be squeezing in stead of one of them. What are we missing?

BTW I'm taking my speed gun, so if anyone wants to be measured for "Fastest car at Kidderminster 2006" award then make sure you get me to take a reading at some point.

Cheers

Lee,

Chris mentioned this on page 5. He may change the 3speed to a Frog race.

Im happy if the races stay the same. Like the 2 Hornet races, as long as mine make it past the first one!

[:D]never mind the race's I'm getting cold just thinking about camping out next weekend[:(],Its snowing in Tamworth and Kidder is only about 20miles away as the crow fly's.

Blimey if its snowing that would make things interesting to say the least!! I'm thinking in investing in one of those cheapy argos camping stoves - surviving off cold food and beer is one thing in August, but I think I'll need hot drinks at least at Kidd this year, especially if its cold [;)]

but the sun always shines on Tamiyaclub events (well, apart from when it rains/sleets/snows/freezes)

Hot drinks are a must - there are loads of people around with this sort of equipment and I sponged drinks for the first few with no probs at all. [Jimbo turns up with virtually a home away from home, and I think quite likes being 'mum' for the weekend] That said last year I invested in my own stove, gas and kettle and I relished in my independance for once - it was just like leaving home all over again [;)]

The thing is just be prepared. There is a funny sketch with Billy Connely going on about people complaining about 'bad weather' - his take and mine too now days, is there is no such thing as bad weather - its really just people that are badly prepared. All you need to do is make sure you take all you warmest and most water proof clothes (and buy extra if you pass any shops on the way)

Looks like I'll definitely be off down to Argos on Thursday then [;)]. Managed to get the day off work on Thursday so should be able to get a bit of extra time to prepare.

Glad I booked a van now as if things are a bit wet or cold I can always nip back to it between races and put the heater on full blast if necessary [;)].

Just emailed my race entries, sublect to me pulling my finger out and getting some cars finished!! lol!!

ChrisB, you wont be alone in the Xc race now!! lol!!

The other half bought me an Argos special pit table at the weekend so at least Ill have somewhere to sit and fix cars!!

Really looking forward to the weekend!! My first Tc meet!! yay!! [:D]

Nice one Shaun, although last year it was a similar situation before the event, but on the day it turned out to be a pretty full grid with lots of Pajero's and an XC based Unimog too [:)]. No other Hummers though sadly - seem to be less of them around these days, either that or people just don't tend to run 'em as much.... Maybe this year we might see a few Toerags - quite a few people seem to have them in their showrooms?

Lat year I had loads of problems with the front body mounting system on the Hummer - kept popping off just about every lap ensuring a fair few pit stops! This year though I have modded the front mounting and the shell to use normal body posts so hoping I can spend less time in the pits [;)].

Cheers,

Yup the weather is looking really quite good, but there again we knew this... everyone Positive Thinking please :).

XC based unimog?? it was a TT01 based unimog.  But intend to run my Touareg this year.

Is that that strange quiz show on Channel 4 that I saw the other week? Couldn't work out what on earth was going on but I was strangely transfixed by it....

Looking promising for the weather, I hope the rain stays away and it isn't too windy. I've got most of my fleet ready to run now, Lunchbox will be making an appearance thanks to a timely delivery of body posts from the Shopkeeper, and even Willy will be running with a new receiver as the old one let us down last year.

I've got 2 pairs of thermal socks from Tesco too, so my feet won't be cold, even if the rest of me is [:D]

Got my tickets today!  Oh boy do they look nice and shiney!! [:P] Do I really have to had them in? They look so good I wanna frame them and put them up! [:D]

Got my fingers crossed for good weather. Will be camping so kinda hoping it will be dry at least! [:|]

Would like to try and come along but other commitments mean it would be for a few hours only. Did I read £6 to purchase on the day. Will only be a spectator.

Just come wave them at me when you get there, and then leave them on your dash.

You don't have to hand them in

cheers

On the dash...  And risk fading my beautiful tickets with sun fade...  Chris, what are you thinking?  [;)]

Ticket price is for racers and spectators alike. The event is as much about watching and roaming around the pits see what people are up to and what they have to trade/for sale as it about the racing.
