Hi,

i bought some parts on the bay. My payment was fast (paypal) and the

items are or on the way (USPS track id). Normaly i give feedback after

i received the payment, or when i recieve the items.

But now i have two sellers who dont given any feedback and the

transaction is 2 weeks ago. What can i do? Also no fedback or should i

give feedback and hope for their reaction?

I don't leave feedback until I receive the item when I have made a purchase.  Sometimes if the item is taking a while to arrive I will email the seller and leet them know I have not forgotten and I am just waiting for the item.  I have always had my feedback returned using this method although depending on the shipping it has taken as long as 4 weeks to exchange feedback [;)].

I have completed many transaction where I didn't get any feedback in return.  My advice is to not complain as you might get some unwanted feedback.

Yeh - don't worry about it. As long as you don't get negative feedback, who cares? As a buyer I leave feedback when the item has arrived and I'm happy with it. As a seller, I leave it as soon as the buyer pays - as far I am concerned that's all they need to do. I don't think you should wait until they leave you feedback first...

I wouldn't worry about not getting feedback - its happened to me a few times. It annoys me when sellers refuse to leave feedback until I have left it when I have already paid up and kept my side of the deal though....[:@]

My take when I am selling is that as soon as I receive cleared payment for an item I leave feedback for the buyer, after all they have fulfilled their side of the deal. I don't think as a seller its fair to insist on a buyer leaving feedback before you leave them feedback. In cases where this happens I don't tend to leave feedback for the seller, and will tell them why if they ask.

In these cases (only happens rarely) I will just accept I am not going to get feedback for that trade - no big loss for me.

Most bigger reputable sellers on ebay seem to follow this approach and leave feedback after cleared payment has been received.

hi i never leave feedback as a seller untill the transaction is completed and everyone is happy. if you leave it as soon as you are paid. the buyer might decide hes unhappy with what he recieved and leave you negative feedback, just because its not what he really wanted or he thinks it should have been better than it is

Each to their own I guess, although this approach seems a little unfair on the buyer as you have his cleared funds already and he has kept his side of the deal. As long you sold something as described, packed it well and sent it via insured delivery, and kept in contact with buyer throughout the process the opportunities for misunderstandings / getting ripped off should be minimised.....

Negative feedback should be a last resort anyway after all other avenues are exhausted. If someone negs you right off without even attempting to contact you, I'm afraid you were probably onto a loser from the start. Thats why you need to be picky about who you sell to and buy from and check the ratings and comments - can save a lot of heartache later.

I have to say if I was buying I am happy to email the seller to say the goods have arrived OK and I am happy with them, but I won't leave feedback until they have. I completed my side of the deal first and they have my money - that is what my feedback should depend on imho, and the seller should leave it first.

As a seller, I usually do not leave feedback until the buyer has left feedback, and even then it might take me a few weeks, just so I can take care of a bunch all at one time. Unless, when I sell to a known great buyer, I leave feedback as soon as payment is received, or soon after anyway. As a buyer, I usually leave feedback as soon as the item is received. That way, the seller will feel comfortable leaving their feedback. Its all very cat and mouse. There are negative people out there who will leave a bad feedback for little or no reason, so its best to be careful. In the end, I always leave positive feedback for an overall good transaction,, eventually.

Problem is that in ebay you can't really choose to who you sell due to last minute bidding. And hence, as at least as many idiot buyers as sellers exist I always leave feedback as a buyer first but also wait when I sell for the buyer to leave first, as few are extremly unreasonable and without any logic and some are unethical and try to blackmail through feedback.

From a buyer only perspective (and this view may change when I start dealing with the unwashed masses)

If I have bid, won, and sent the money, I would not expect immediate feedback from the seller as he does not know that the transaction has been completed and that you as a buyer are happy.

With some simple purchases, I have received feedback almost immediately I have sent payment (example would be a bucket of small cable ties)  Not much to go wrong on this apart from not turning up really (which it didn't do, it arrived promptly)

I paid, he left me feedback, goods arrived, I was happy, left +ive back.  no problems.

I have had occasion to not leave any feedback, and this was mutually agreed.

Whilst the goods did arrive there were problems with the goods, and the shipping time, and delays.  Not the best resolution ever, but amicably settled with reasonable communication.

We both felt that either a -ive, or neutral was not warranted, but a +ive would have been unfair, given the circumstances.

As a buyer, I think it depends on the purchase you make as to wether or not you get feedback first, or second.

As a seller I can see why they wait until you have confirmed you are happy that the transaction is over, and completed to both parties satisfaction.

I would not leave a negative, until all other avenues (including the dispute panel) have been exhausted via ebay's methods (or unless seller was just plain rude to me for some reason).

As a buyer, I would expect positive feedback as soon as I have paid. How else exactly would I not be holding up my end of the deal? If I didn't pay, I would expect negative feedback, unless the issue is resolved another way.

Waiting to see if the buyer is happy before leaving positive feedback just fosters the 'retaliatory' nature of the deal. Even if the buyer is unhappy, he/she still hasn't done anything wrong. So what you're saying then is if you get negative feedback, then you are entitled to give negative feedback in return, even though the buyer paid you the money.

All this is in theory of course - I haven't had my fingers burnt yet, so I can still sit on my high horse and tell you all to use the system properly... [:)]

As said before, in an ideal world, a seller should leave feedback as soon as he gets the money, but since there are unreasonable buyers as there are sellers, its always very risky to leave them feedback first as some may just leave you bad feedback as they expected something else then was described, or didn't read the auction description, believe me, you can have unreasonable persons on either side.

From my buyer only perspective, I am happy to leave feedback first, once I am happy with the transaction.

How does the seller know that the goods arrived in good shape?  If the package was damaged and insured, then the seller still has a responsibility for the goods and the refund of the money / replacement of the goods. and it's the seller who would need to deal with the courier in this case.

I think that too many sellers think that they can write their own terms and conditions within the advert and this creates a legally binding agreement that makes the law of the land null and void.  It doesn't.

If the above case happens then if you've left positive (as a seller) but the buyer isn't happy, then you still have a responsibilty to deal with it.  If you do, then (In my world) you still get good feedback.

If you don't deal with it properly, then you get a neg. but the buyer needs to ensure good communication with the seller and flagging up any issues in a timely manner is of paramount importance.
