Can you look in my showroom and please let me know what I have? I wish AE would have numbered their cars like Tamyia did so I wouldn't have to guess what it really is. Thanks for any help.

It is an original RC10, the very first version produced from 1984 with short front wishbones,

anti roll bar, original 3 piece wheels and the original six gear

transmission. The body is an Associated Sidewinder body, an option part

for the car.

Associated do number their cars like Tamiya do. here they are for your RC10.

#6000 Basic kit, less all electrical, less bearings

#6010 Full kit, less battery, less bearings

#6012 Full kit, less battery, body, wing, bearings

#6016 Full kit, ball bearings, less battery

#6020 Full kit, with battery pack, less bearings

At least you can identify every Associated model correctly with the body off.

Thanks a lot for the info. I found a few websites selling original bodies and wings so I know they are easy to get. I find that odd that bodies from long ago are still in the shops for about $25 bucks a pop. Not bad at all.

When I Emailed Associated for a body for mine they said that they still made the body and wing but they have quit production of the three spoke rims a long time ago ( I wanted a set of rims too ) . Though glad , still not sure why the body is still being produced .

I too find it very odd that they are still selling that body NIP. Tower carries them. Maybe I should buy a whole bunch just to corner the market one day.
