I have got one of my SB pro buggies pretty much fully tweaked for racing. Its got stock springs on the metal shocks, and uses my slipper clutch mod for a bigger spur gear. At first, the Academy is great. Its quite fast, and has loads of steering. The shocks need to be firmed using more preload spacers to prevent massive chassis slap off jumps. There dosent seem to be a good comprimize here. Softer springs and thicker oil might help here. Now try the lazer. Wow! The lazer is very nice. It has more suspention, so handles bumps and jumps well, with little to no compramize. Steering is very progressive. It enters turns and holds its line with less tendancy to oversteer off throttle. It just holds its line better. The lazer is easier to drive fast, and more forgiving of rough driving. The SB is just as fast, but requires more concentration, and will swap ends a bit more easily. Too bad my Lazer is broke. First race of the season will be with the SB. It is nice to have 2 or possibly 3 fully race ready 4wd buggies to choose from though!

The Yokomo seems to spec out real nice, but I find it hard to imagine anything better than my lazer zx5. The layout of the new yoke looks quite a bit like a an X5 losi hybrid. Basicly a 2 belt, center motor with rearward saddle packs. Sure does indeed look very very nice in the naked picture. Would sure like to add 1 or 2 of those new Yokes to my collection and find out for myself if its a world beater though! Actually, my collection is strangely Yokomo defficient...
