have just won a 306 maxi off ebay and was woundering what hop ups to get as i wasnt to make it a fast road car as its the only on-road car i own.

i have got a 14x2 motor installed with esc, it already has topcap oil shocks and uprated springs.  was woundering if i need the heatsink fitting  with the big motor as ive heard of chassis melting.

are there a speed tuned gear set or anything, im using a 16 tooth pinion at the mo is this the best choice with the present motor.

also full ballraces fitted always first job.

anymore info please include many thanks.

A heatsink that you clamp directly on to the motor might be more effective than the Tamiya M03/FF02 heatsink since this is not really in contact with the motor other than the motor mounting screws. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Tamiya does not offer any speed tune gear sets for the FF02 but some other manufactures do offer (remember that the M03 and FF02 chassis/gearbox is the same so the parts might say M03).

RCmart offer a good range of affordable option parts for the FF02. Again remember that you can use any TL01 suspension part and any M03 drive train part except for dogbones/driveshafts which are to short for the FF02 (use TL01 dogbones/driveshafts).

Edit: When choosing pinion there is a couple of things that could help you decide. Is the motor too hot (too hot to even touch) and does it seem like the motor is unable to reach its top RPM (not the 40.000RPM it might have said on the box). Signs of this might be that the car has slow acceleration, unable to reach top speed down the straights. If yes then you need a smaller pinion.

Isn’t 16T the smallest pinion you can use on the FF02? So unless it behaves like I described above you could try to increase the pinion size (isn’t 18Tand 20T the other available pinions for the FF02?).
