Hey all,

Well, would it be possible for someone to post a list of motors with 0 degree timing for us Clod owners that would like a jump up in performance (speed) without getting the special motors with reverse timing and no patience to turn endbells around ?  Of course still swap the +/- wires on one of them right ?

Venom Fireball motors are timed cans that come from packet with 0 degree, you can then time these if you wish.. excellent at £12 a motor and come in various different winds I have 2 x 19 turns in one of my clods.

For High Torque: Traxxas Stinger (20t and shed loads of torque) but non-rebuildable

Venoms are superb as mentioned by Biggus (gave my bro a pair for his gecko clod) - easy brush replacement

I run a pair of Tamiya Super Stock TZ's retimed.  Gives shed loads of pace and good power.  Real problem to re-time them though

Cheers

Wow, great thread you started. I personally run trinity X Star motors in mine, so they are designed for the Clod. (One is reversed)

I know the make a Maghem motor that is reversed for the clod. Towerhobbies sells them.

Just my two cents! [;)]

Hey fellas, thanks for the replies [:D].  I have some Mayhems in my G-Made Clod but they are too slow !  Reason I started thread is I am building a Thundertech Rage Clod over the next few weeks and I want some speed, I think I'll go with a couple of Venom 17 turns.  I just picked up my first non-novak esc for it a LRP Quantum Pro Reverse (7 turn limit) [:P].  Anyway - keep the recommendations coming, because I like a lot of choices ! Plus we can build a list of motors for new clod owners that won't require the endbell to be turned (too much like work).

Sorry to drag up an old thread - but I am looking at fitting 19 or 17 turn Venom Fireballs in my SuperClod - what ESCs are you guys using?

ive stuck two venom 15 t motors with twin mtroniks rv15 esc. goes like stink and gives a good runtime with twin 3000 batteries. doesnt wheelie as much , but rolls too easy now its quicker. looking to increase the wheel width.

A basic rule of thumb is to divide the number of turns by two, so to run a pair of 19 turns you need an ESC that can go down to 9.5 turns, with Fireballs a 10 turn ESC should do. if you want to run a pair of 17 turns you need an ESC that handles 8.5 turns, so an 8 turn ESC.

Either that or like stumpyuk you use a separate ESC for each motor.

Still havent fitted any motors to my Clod - after the drowning it got at the weekend I am loathe to fit anything too expensive as its likely to happen again!

Anyone know if the el-cheapo Ansmann Clash motors are zero timed?

Yes I already have a 17t one of those in my Lunchbox - but I have an 11t ESC in my Clod so would like to fit twin 21t motors to make the most of it - hence the question about the Ansmann Clash motors...
