erm, any wheel off the DF02 and DF03 actualy, the old Star Topforce ones have clearance issues on the strengthening webs.

All of the current range of Proline and Losi off-road tyres will fit without any problems.

I have used Holeshots, Inside Jobs, Taper Pins etc all without problems.[:)]

I'd say that any standard 2.2" tyre will fit.

Hello,

I'm planning to put a 19 turn spec motor in my Dark Impact. What gearing should I use?

All I have at the minute is the kit pinion and the larger of the two spur gears.

Am I going to burn the motor out, working it too hard?

What gearing / motor combos do people have in their DIs?

Elliott.

25/78 on 48dp using the rwracing layshaft ad B4 slipper.  But that was a tight track and it needed to go up a tooth or two, but heat was my enemy.

Hi DCM71 I ordered the slipper unit $37.00 US $ expensive in deed!

Just wanted to know does the stock gear cover unit fit still?

Also i hear guys saying you can buy the tamiya one for alot less and just drill out the center of the B4 spure gear just a little and it should work with the tamiya slipper unit.

Thanks

the reason it is expensive is that the currency conversion puts the price up, thats about as cheap as he can make them in the UK and sell them.

The problem with the Tamiya one is that if they are made from the same material as the kit spur, the material is junk.  But you could use the Tamiya one and ream it out, but you would have to be careful to keep the hole central.

DCM, I ordered one of these shafts, what are the Associated parts # needed for this to complete the assembly?

Posted

You will need to source some Asscoiated parts

9651 - 81tooth spur gear

9603 - slipper pad (x2)

9604 - slipper hub (x2)

They also do a 78tooth spur gear to.

I have spoke to Neil about making smaller spurs to, he will look into it but he can't do it for a couple of weeks though, and can't promise due to the fact he would have to machine the retainer for the slipper pad into both faces of the spur gear.

Who would be interested in some better diff outdrives?

Hi does this part #9604 - slipper hub (x2) give you both inner and outter slipper hub parts or do you have to order two of  this #9604 - slipper hub?

Thanks

My B4 slipper unit arived today my bearings would not fit on the shaft i had to put it in my dremel tool and use sandpaper and sand a little off where the bearing went on to get it to work properly... I think mine was just a bad one as where the shaft was ground to size it looked like it had chips out of it like as if the bit they used to cut it was dull....

Hopefully they all are not like mine!
