Those thick white piston's look nice. I'd have more confidence in them than the thin black ones on the sprues. The set looks even better when those details look good.

the width of the DI and TA05 arms at the chassis end are the same...... and the distance the hingepins are apart are the same....  only thing it would need is a layshaft with a slipper unit... hmmmm

...i cant believe that PullStarter has sold his DImpact!!! I feel like i have lost a friend [:P] So I 'spose you will no longer be needing that sexy blue drive shaft you hairy weasel [:|]

BTW if all goes to plan I will have spring and shock bundles im my ebay store over the weekend if anyone is interested [:D]

already got the shocks AND springs.... although a chassis conversion would be nice, don't like drilling holes in the bottom of the chassis for cooling holes for the ESC...

I'm sure this has been covered on one of the 28 pages of this thread, but:

1. do Top Force universal shafts fit DI?

2. do Dyna Storm dampers fit DI?

(DS damper length mount hole to mount hole: front: 85mm / rear: 90mm)

Top Force universals apparently fit, although I would rather have the Gravel hounds CVD's if I had to buy them.

Dyna Storm front shocks are to long.

HA HA! I managed to break my DI, while practicing table top jumps at a little BMX park near my house. All the big jumps on wood and concrete bent a rear shock piston shaft. It's OK I have the upgrades coming soon.

My first DI breakage!

To me it feels safer to land the car on it's front wheels and let the back ones catch up, rather than have a chassis slapper where the car bottoms out, the noise unnerves me. How should I be landing jumps? Does anyone know any good tutorials online?

if there is a downslope, landing it on the downslope, all wheels at the same time (tap brakes to bring the nose down), if there is no downslope, either risk it for a biscuit and jump far, there is no 'safe' way of this, or tipple over it with just a little jump.

This post was going to be about how perfect a fit the old and obscure Hitec Gem/Shredder micro receiver was in the servo side of the Dark Impact. It was going to be about how a badly titled auction meant I could pick up one of these dinky receivers for £2.50 with P&P. This post was also about how well the new uprated threaded shockers work on the DI. It was going to be about beautifully designed they are, how smooth they are and how incredibly beautiful they look, such that the DI itself, now looks a bit sub standard and 'ick'.

But alas, I turn a wheel out the front of the house to check the range of said micro receiver (it doesn't have the greatest noise filtering system or range) and I eject a dogbone onto the grass (not actually caused by the additional droop on the longer new shockers). By the time I find the dogbone, my good partner turns up and I have to put my toys away.

'Annoyingly' I'm down the pub tonight, so I won't be able to play tonight either.

you can cut the dog dones in half then braize some copper tubing over them to lengthen them a little, or stop being a tight wad and buy the DF02 CVD's, from Stella won't be much.

Hi All,

Nearly finished the build now (had to go away on business, so it got badly delayed!). Everything is great except I can't figure out where the badword you're supposed to put the receiver batteries on this thing. I have a standard Acoms receiver and steering servo and it has that 4 x AA battery holder - where does that fit? Or am I just being dumb about this? Does it draw power from the main battery somehow?

Cheers,

James
